It’s the biggest game of the Premier League season so far on Sunday, March 31 with Manchester City taking on Arsenal. We’re only at the end of March, so it’s potentially too soon to call this a Premier League odds decider, but it isn’t far from that.

This genuinely is a season-defining game for both teams, with both Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta knowing that three points for their team puts them in with a great chance of lifting silverware in May. Don’t miss our Manchester City vs. Arsenal soccer picks and predictions for Sunday, March 31.

Man City vs Arsenal best odds

EPL predictions for Man City vs Arsenal

Modern sport is a world obsessed with hyperbole; the next big thing, the greatest of all time, all worn out phrases that are starting to lose meaning. But when we talk about Sunday’s Man City vs. Arsenal game being the biggest game of the Premier League season so far, it’s very much true.

The calendar is about to turn from March to April, and we’re getting ever closer to the end of the Premier League season. With just one point separating these teams and just 10 games remaining, a defeat could be a knockout blow.

Manchester City are third in the Premier League, just one point behind Liverpool and Arsenal. But it’s Arsenal who are on top thanks to a superior goal difference. It’s a three-team race to win the Premier League this year; Man City, the current champions and a team familiar with winning, Arsenal, who choked away last season’s title race, and one-time winners Liverpool, who’ll be watching on with interest come Sunday.

This is a truly titanic tussle, and in big games we see big players and big teams step up time and time again. That brings us to our best bet for Sunday, which is for Man City to win at -105.

While not quite being plus-money, odds of -105 are rare for Man City in the Pep Guardiola era, particularly in recent years in which they’ve overrun anybody who dared try and stop them. There’s a number of reasons to believe that Man City will again win a vital game here.

Firstly, they are very strong at home. They, along with Liverpool, are the only two teams who have yet to be beaten on home turf this season. Having conceded just 12 goals, they are tied for the best defensive record, too. Arsenal have been very good on the road this year, tied for away wins alongside City, but the Etihad has quietly turned into a fortress for Guardiola’s side.

We are also set to see some of City’s star players return to the team. There are a number of doubts with the likes of Kyle Walker, John Stones, and Manuel Akanji getting injuries on international duty, but it’s expected that Akanji and Walker should be fit to start.

However, the key is Kevin De Bruyne, and the midfielder didn’t meet up with Belgium in the international break, with many believing he was focusing on being healthy for this game. If De Bruyne plays, and he likely will, then he’s the difference maker.

His return to the team at the turn of the year is what turned Man City’s season. In a squad full of superstars, it’s the Belgian who tops the lot and makes the team work. If he plays, then his passing ability will help take advantage of holes in the backline and he’ll thrive in the gaps between midfield and defense.

If you need another reason to back a Man City team consisting of De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Rodri, and Bernardo Silva, then remember this; Man City have won the past eight meetings between these two teams at the Etihad. Get that big value price on Man City to win while you can.

Man City vs Arsenal same-game parlay

Man City moneyline

Man City to lead at halftime

Kevin De Bruyne to score or assist

In addition to Man City winning the game, we’re also adding Man City to be winning at halftime.

Nobody in the Premier League has a better record in the first half of games than Man City, who have won 14 of 28 first halves, scoring 26 goals and allowing just 13. They’re even more clinical at home, having taken a lead into the break in 10 of 14 games while conceding just four goals, the lowest of any team at home in the first half of games.

To complete our same-game parlay, we’re talking again about that man, Kevin De Bruyne. The 32-year old has missed the majority of the season but his return has coincided with the team upping their levels. He’s played nine Premier League games, of which just six were starts, and in that time he’s scored once and assisted another five more. He’s an incredible creator of goals but very good at scoring in big games too.

Man City vs Arsenal side and Over/Under analysis

We’re already backing Man City at -105 on the moneyline, which offers great value. But if you want to back the Gunners you could get +275, which is a big price for Mike Arteta’s men. Likewise, a draw, which is a result that neither team would hate, is available at +285 and can’t be ruled out. However, you have to respect Man City’s experience and that should be what gets them through this game.

If you’re looking to wager on the total, then you can get Over 2.5 at -136 and Under 2.5 goals at +114.

Over 2.5 goals has landed in 67.9% of Arsenal’s Premier League games this season, but we’ve seen just 50% of Man City’s home games hit that mark and only once in their last four at the Eithad. I have no strong leans either way on this one and would prefer to tackle the game in other ways.
