Here is the article if anyone is interested.  It says that the money was seized to pay winnings to account holders.  I wouldn't hold my breath though...

Why is this just happening now?  Bodog has been around for a long time.  I don't understand.

"An ex-employee of Bodog laid out for investigators Bodog's structure, identifying top level officers and directors and outlining its operations in Canada and Costa Rica, an affidavit shows."

darn this guy. Probably got the ax and decided to go this route.

No, Bovada is out of Latvia, which is in Asia. The money was laundered through Canada, Switzerland, England, Malta to pay winnings. Hence, Bovada.LV

Once again the Feds find the need to darn the little guy. By seizing the site all the players that have accounts there get the big middle finger. I wish that the feds would look into state lotteries as closely. A lottery is the biggest rip off in gambling but the states have no problem running them. I know people who spend $50 a day just on lottery tickets and scratch offs. Guess losing $350 a week is Ok but betting $50 on the Lakers is somehow going to make people go broke. friggin US govt. needs a reality check when it comes to allowing its citizens the right to particapate in a pasttime that the rest of the world allows, namely betting on sports.

If this guy wasn't so outlandish in media and advertising none of this happens. If the pinny model was applied to all sportsbooks, Americans would never had to endure UIGEA.

My question is how many sites were seized when Bush was in office? The answer is none. It's the Obama justice Dept doing all this bullshit. Sure the UIGEA was passed under Bush admin but lots of the so called liberal Dems voted for it so guess they should take some heat also. But Barbarossa is that typical Dem lover that blames everything on Bush. Remember the Obama justice dept. can ignore the law if they want to but they don't so i guess Bush must be pushing them to do it.....HA HA. So the question is why are they doing it. Remember if they seize the assets of those sites it goes into the USA treasury. Guess Obama gets his wish to tax the rich even though they don't reside in the USA.
