WASHINGTON, April 4, 2013 ? On March 12, 2013 a three judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals based in Richmond, overturned Virginia’s long standing anti-sodomy law with a 2-1 vote. However, the Attorney General wants the Court to review that decision.
The Court ruled that Virginia’s “Crimes Against
Nature” statute was unconstitutional based on the 2003 Supreme Court
decision in Lawrence v. Texas. In 2003, the Supreme Court ruled that
state laws that make any type of sexual activity between consenting
adults a crime are unconstitutional.

Actually, SCOTUS did NOT rule that all anti-sodomy laws were unconstitutional in Lawrence v Texas--just the ones that banned PRIVATE acts between consenting adults.
Therefore, it did not abolish laws against child sodomy, nor adult sodomy performed in public, nor adult sodomy that is placed on the internet or a social media site.
I don't know what the VA AG has in mind--I am merely correcting the record.
