perhaps it is awful for the GOP with how embarrassing this was...

I actually said in another thread that if it was about exposing the poor quality of GOP leadership and inability to come up with viable solutions for the financial well-being of nation then those GOPs that didn't mindlessly follow the partisan 

boehner's own party showed that he and and his party's ideas are in fact the "empty suit/chair" that has been talked about all year... 

So if having a back bone meant not knowingly marching out a bunch of half backed GOP ideas that was destined for failure then I commend those in the legislative branch that thought like individuals doing what is best for the nation rather then blindly following partisan lines like lemmings literally marching the country to its doom...

either that GOP's in legislative branch only have one stamp and it says "no" on it... and they wouldn't know how to vote yes if they wanted to

I was thinking earlier tonight of when I went from being indifferent to the government to outright despising it. I'd have to say it's since 911.

Completely bloated an incompetent. I'd rather give my money to a thief than the government.

Boehner made a risky gamble that ended up backfiring, when his "plan B" failed the far-right conservatives (i.e. Tea Party).   Frankly, it was a tactical mistake and now the Repubs are the bad guys in the eyes of the public.     Obama gonna come out of this with even more leverage it seems.

Some new, young leadership needs to take hold of the Republican Party.  Boehner is a softy and seems to be damaging the Repub party.

even republican reps realize how incredibly stupid republican reps are.  this guy talks about the continuing dumbing down of republicans.   i guess acceptance is the first stage if recovery but i'm not sure why these nuts didn't see stupid and crazy years ago when everyone eklse did.

this shows specifically the problem that GOPs now a days can cry, complain, moan and point fingers... especially being completely obsessed about negative spin on obama...

but when it comes to solutions and getting the country back on track they are "empty suit/chair" and  America knew it by refusing to allow Romney in executive office....

this 4 years of worst president ever or one term president was basically waving the white flag saying that they have nothing to offer to make things better... so transparent... 

so it does not matter what obama's track record or legacy was...  there was no way that conscious thinkers and independents could vote for the GOP "empty chair party" had nothing to offer but insults, attacks, spin and fabrication...

no, i made a thread not too long ago asking why we shouldn't go over the "fiscal cliff".  the media won't analyze the pros and cons because that would require some actual thought.  it's much easier to give it some scary name and then perpetuate the fear of it happening to get people to wtch.  what anyone ever learns from watching news coverage of the "fiscal cluff", i have no idea.

but isn't this what should happen after you spend and spend without regard to how much revenue you have?  if this was your company or your family and they spent like there was no tomorrow and the debt piled up, wouldn't you expect some pretty drastic and painful repercussions?  i guess it's different when politicians only concerned with short term reelection are calling the shots.

I totally agree. We are so far into the hole. With both sides trying to get as much as they could and giving up al little as possible, it's like putting a bandage on a gunshot wound. We need some serious dosage of hard medicine-- increase revenue and deep spending cut. Unfortnately, both sides seem to be seriously interested in only one side as if they are mutually exclusive.

No, I don't it's a passable proposal and he knew it. He had to do it because it would at least give him a out. Obviously, he either over-estimated his influence or under-estimated the ultra-rights in his own party. To those hardliners, nothing is going to satisfy them unless they get their full way.

Its funny that right wingers are so consumed with gun talk...

anything to avoid mentioning the complete debacle that is going on in the GOP leadership and a lack of solutions for financial/fiscal issues...

voters knew with romney/GOP that the election was about economy and that simply being opposed to anything obama does is not a solution for the fiscal/financial issues of the nation...

the american public knew that the GOP leadership offers no actually solutions and this idea was concretely solidified by the GOP legislative branch showing no confident in the plan b proposal by their own party...

If you see a right winger going on about a gun agenda it is simply a white flag waving telling the world that when it comes to economy/financial/fiscal issues they are absolutely clueless...

There is no leadership PERIOD, repubs or dems.

The entire government is a complete debacle.

It really is an embarrassment what our government is doing or not doing in this case.

Enough with the hypocrisy of blaming one side or the other.

Fox news and MSNBC are interchangeable just like the political parties. They are entertainment shows engineered to suck in the partisan wannabes and line their pockets. They are both equally guilty of misrepresenting the facts. One is not better than the other.

Same as in the political parties, they put on a show to suck the partisan wannabes in to get their votes. Once elected they don't serve the people, they line their pockets and screw the people over.

You guys are like a darn!ng broken record. It's the same sh!t everyday. Fox new this, Obama that. GOP this. Left wing liberals that. Hannity this. MSNBC that.

Wake the darn up.

It's pointless, they win and the people lose.
