The Miami Herald (https://hrld.us/KY1mAf ) reports Sybrina Fulton has collected $40,825 worth of donated vacation time from fellow county employees. She has worked for the Miami-Dade County housing authority 23 years.
Fulton's son, Trayvon Martin, was shot and killed in February by George Zimmerman in a case that sparked a national outcry. Zimmerman has been charged with second-degree murder and has been released on bond.
Martin's family has raised nearly $100,000 that will be used to launch a criminal justice advocacy foundation.
Zimmerman has raised more than $200,000. His attorney says money has been spent on bond, paying debts, and arranging secure living quarters.

When I hurt my wrist and had to be off work at Alcoa once I had been off of my job for a certain period of time, they could re-bid my job and I'd have to come back and start at a different entry level position.
