  • I wish we had someone like you running for president. I am an 85 yr. old white man and I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I grew up during the depression. People today don't know real poverty. We were so poor, we didn't know we were poor, because everyone was poor. But we took care of each other. The social engineers have changed all that. Today we are a nation of cry babies. No one wants to work for their keep. The nation has been brainwashed to believe that someone owes them something. If I were president there would not be another check cut for any type of welfare program. Help for people in need should come first from family, then church, then community. And thats it. Never from government.
Star I love what you stand for. I have been in your corner ever since I first heard about you. I don't have a lot of money but I will give you what I can, and spread the word that people need to listen to you. You have the message that can save this nation.
God Bless You In All That You Do

Star you are truly a woman after God's own heart. I love your approach, your clarity of purpose and your unreproachable integrity. God bless you always. Reverend Wayne Reed

Star you are well spoken and have a wide range opinion on the topics dear to your heart however your main topic does not line up with the God's word, so my suggestion is to read the Bible first and go from there. God loves you and wants you to make the right choice, which is life. Most of the issues we face today reflects our choices so the poor we will always have according to the bible and there is nothing we can do to change that so lets focus on areas we can change like jobs without brain washing university educations, just saying, you come up with an attack route.
  • Mr Swan, I'm a ways behind you @ 69 however, in growing up I had the privilege of living in 2 log cabins at different points in my life. One of which had a dirt floor. We lived on what was available in the fields out back part of the time. There is a need for hjelp for some folks, I experienced some of that through a high school counselor, friends, family and customers on my paper route at 15 when my father died. He'd been unable to work half of my life and my mother worked for whatever she could, at that time it wasn't much to keep us housed and fed. I carried papers and did odd jobs to pay for my school books, supplies and a little money to spend. Now I'm married to a teacher that comes home talking about rude students, disrespectful of the books and supplies they're "given" & it angers me greatly. We do need personal responsibility and to regain the work ethic. Thank you Star Parker. In the words of Star Treks Spock "Live long and prosper". We need more like you in our political structure. Nuff Sed.
The question is, do leftist politicians consciously break down the family unit for some unspoken purpose, such as transferring more power to government, or are they just incredibly stupid?

Right on, Star! The liberals and Black racists won't like this, as it puts the blame on them and government, and not on White people. Bless you for having the guts to speak the truth.
Star, you are brilliant... and absolutely right, the left and liberal politicians have created a cycle of poverty by continuing to break down the family structure, increasing the push for moral relativism and enslaving entire generations to live from government subsidies. Break these up and their entire narrative and structure will break down.

      GOD BLESS YOU STAR

The best remedy to poverty is a good job.  But that isn't always possible because people may lack qualifications or opportunities.  Since poverty occurs naturally,  government's unique duty is to intervene in failures of private sector.  That is,  income redistribution or stealing from the rich to give to poor.

From the Great Depression, welfare and other social safety nets evolved so that there would be less suffering.  Besides, not helping people is unChristian.  Modern society is better with welfare instead of without welfare.

There are myths about welfare.  First, welfare is easy to get?  Actually, cashpoor governments are stingy and dislike giving money to receive nothing in return.  Second, welfare is long term?  Most recipients are temporarily unemployed and return to work.

When governments need to reduce spending, social services are usually among the favorite targets.  To justify cuts, victims may be blamed for their own misfortune.
