"Statewide polls show that
voters would roll back the new law if the election were held today. But
even those who think Republicans face an uphill fight expect it to be
close. The governor, in an interview, expressed confidence that
attitudes will shift once his side's media drive cranks up."
We need to ban political ads, if you really have an interest in
politics you will find the information you are looking for and those
that vote based on TV ads shouldn't be voting anyways. Here, you want
to know what the politician stands for, watch his debate. Write letters
to the campaign and ask.
Fuck, why are people so stupid to allow democracy to be bought by the highest bidder.

The attack on the worker is disgraceful. The truth is that a group of united employees working in any industry consistently out-negotiate the "smartest and brightest" people from the top learning institutions in the world.
Freaking CEO's earn 30, 50 or even 100 million in a year and the only way they know how to run a company is to out source what they can and generally cut the amount of employees in the firm and grind those employees that remain to the grave.
So now after the elected officials have pissed away and overspent the peoples tax dollars they paint the workers as the bad guys and try to play the union workers against less fortunate workers so as to pass legislation that takes away hard fought benefits.
I say if those making 9 bucks an hour were smart....they should unionize as well and demand more. Wake up America we are being hosed and left hopeless, by a bunch of elected right wing cock suckers who in the end only care about themselves. They would sell their mothers if it meant they could take home more $$$.

First off...I've never heard of a union worker getting driven to the grave.
Second...Union membership has been declining steady for the last 30 years. I argue...doesn't that signal that American has woken up.
Third...The only people I hear defending unions are the members themselves.
People that would like to reform unions are concerned about the consumer and avg worker. Its bad enough that it now costs me $9+ just to get lunch these days when it used to cost me just under or around $5. Union labor just drives up the cost of doing business which then drives up costs to workers and consumers.
If you think people should make $18 per hour running a cash register your high. The free market system is the BEST way to run an economy. ONCE YOU UNION KOOLAID DRINKERS LEARN THAT YOU'RE NOW COMPETING WITH CHINA TO SELL YOUR GOODS YOU WILL BE BETTER OFF.
Isn't it bad enough that when I buy a new car and drive it off the lot I loose $2k immediately? You union sheep don't understand basic economics.
If I'm an employer and I have an employee that is costing me money I should have the right to fire YOU! If I have an employee that excels above and beyond the rest I should be able to offer that person a raise.
Learn some basic economics and then lets talk.

Not sure if unions serve a purpose in 2011, but i dont agree with blindly taking away there "bargaining"
I see it as essential in the public sector because hard faught gains in recouping benefits and retirement could simply be bargained back after election cycles end.
Taxpayers already have trouble paying for state government workers to retire after barely over 20 years. Once libs get back in office they will simply give all the lavish perks back to them simply for political support.

Ive never been in union, nor do i know much about them so i will stay outta this subject....in my mind they were old school, like 1890's...etc
how much are union dues? like 15%
Unions served a valueble service before OSHA, min wage, workers comp, and other regulations, Now they are obsolete and counterproductive. For the most part.

malaka we have a difference of opinion. you wont convince me there is no need for unions. But then again a guy that lists Greece as his location is teaching everyone else about economics.
Personally, it sounds to me that your doing fine. Go about your business then. Why is it important to you what someone else does to better themselves?
as for a previous comments you made
"First off...I've never heard of a union worker getting driven to the grave."
How many NFL players have seen an early grave? How many construction, steel workers electricians have died on the job?
"Second...Union membership has been declining steady for the last 30 years. I argue...doesn't that signal that American has woken up."
l argue that it looks like American workers have fallen asleep. Also with such low union membership why is it that the economy has not seen worse days since the great depression?
"Third...The only people I hear defending unions are the members themselves"
Duh!!!!! When you know something is to your benefit is it not logical that you would try to defend it ?
ONCE YOU UNION KOOLAID DRINKERS LEARN THAT YOU'RE NOW COMPETING WITH CHINA TO SELL YOUR GOODS YOU WILL BE BETTER OFF."
Buddy you dont have to teach me about reality but it does sound to me like you are drunk on right wing koolaid. l would just like to see a better reality for workers in America.
I stand by my previous comments and am not concerned in the least what your perceptions are. Live and let live.

NFL has long had union membership so I guess you are helping my make my point.

We can argue with the awake or asleep part till were blue in the face. Your proclaiming that higher union wages which gets passed down to the consumer will stimulate the economy? Seems to me that it would just break even.
"Third...The only people I hear defending unions are the members themselves"

Not so fast my friend. If union membership is declining that means there are more and more EX-UNION MEMBERS that know first hand if unions are beneficial. They would defend unions if that were the case.

If you're implying that I am an alias of his then u'd be dead wrong AGAIN.
Why is it that all you libs assume that because some of us don't agree with you that we have to be an alias? Is it just not possible to be outnumbered by conservative people?
