I agree he uses a teleprompter too much, but in that video, when they pull back, I could not see the teleprompter, was he using one there?

Don't you see.... he's nothing but an actor on a stage...nothing more , nothing less...the dems have been had...but we're all going to pay the price...we are in one of the greatest crisises' of our time, and THIS is what he get.....i'm scared

prompter is clear glass on a very thin stand. its very tough to see from any camera angle

but yes he always uses it...either that or the plasma tv. prompter is jealous of plasma i heard

Yes, sure, ALL he has done is tell anyone who will listen how bad the USA has become.

I will say he is doing a very bad job so far, unfortunately for us.  But the abject lies/hatred/ vile nonsense since even before he was in office is insane.

It has reached bush level nonsense, but at least bush had a track record of utter incompetence before it got to this level.

I don't think Obama is necesarrily doing a 'very bad job' so far. All things considered, he's actually holding up quite well imo. He just happens to be the top dog for the most corrupt business out there, so i find it hard to say that I am against everything that business does and stands for at this point, but Obama seems like a nice guy and he used the word Change, so he's  
 
Obmama bait and switch on the people of this country (and the world for that matter) SHOULD have everyone pissed. He came off as if he'd be a man for the people, and so far, by his selections on the business(money ) side of things, and their actions, either Obama is being held hostage by the bankers, or he doesn't have a clue, says one thing and is told to do another

What makes this whole affair astonishingly hypocritical is the fact that Ronald Reagan did the same thing, only worse, in a low-tech fashion. Reagan almost never said anything in public without his ubiquitous 3 x 5 cue cards. Guests at the White House would sometimes be astonished that Reagan would stand there and exchange one on one small talk banter with them, reading off of cue cards. One time he even mistakenly pulled out last week’s set of cards from his suit coat pocket, and blithely went along reading the wrong introductory comments to the guests assembled for a meeting. Needless to say, however, Reagan has since been turned into a virtual deity of the right. So isn’t it a little rich that the same people who worship at the Throne of The Ron have a problem with the current president reading his speeches off a Teleprompter

More absurdity I see. Yes, Obama uses a teleprompter alot - big deal. It's just a helpful tool for him & doesn't mean he doesn't know or understand what he's saying. As far as running down the US - I haven't seen or ever heard that from him - only the opposite. I do like the way he handles himself & goes into depth while trying to fully answer questions though -

You might be right Cashin, but the negatives look pretty LARGE when the man has done ABSOLUTELY nothing positive. While the use of a teleprompter may not be an indictment in and of itself (though it spits in the face of those who claimed he was a dynamic speaker) a patent inability to read from said teleprompter most certainly is. Face it the man is stupid and plastic ie a puppet.

Apache - disagree with all of what you said & a teleprompter doesn't diminish the fact that he's a dynamic speaker. And how would you know if he's done or not done anything that's positive? In some ways I believe he has, but the larger & more important stories have yet to be told & will take time to know.
 
Some of you guys views on what a Prez can do & should be in this day & time seem completely unrealistic & altogether idealistic. What are they based on? Different times & Ronald Reagan? Please - Reagan had the right stuff & at the right time in is thoughts/beliefs in regards to communism but that was about it. He was horrible domestically and simplistic in his foreign affairs thinking. Fortunately for him, the "tear down that wall" & timing with Gorby (was going to happen anyway) combined with his personal charisma/personality & speaking ability (the very things alot of yall hate about Obama) gave him this kinda hero-worship thing that in large part is undeserved. That & prob the fact that the GOP has produced no real leaders since -

I can think of 13 trillion things he has done wrong already. The first trillion dollar stimulus was a flat out robbery of the American taxpayer and of future generations. It generously repays Obama's campaign contributors and further entrenches the corruption and malaise that is the Democratic Party.

I just don't get the Obama support and his defenders? Why?  I look at him like any other lawyer that would get lucky enough to win American Idol, and critisize him like any other president that would put the interests of the wealthy first at the expense of the rest of the population.

people just like to argue, and people prefer winning over losing, so this is all just a bunch of 'your team vs my team' garbage, and the audacity to hope that something was going to Change and be different this time around . God forbid we work together for the betterment of the whole. As far as that goes, i see NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER IN OBAMA AND GEORGE BUSH JR.

be easy - well, I see alot of huge differences in GWB & Obama, but to get anything done in Wash (or even try), you gotta play politics & money, power, influence & compromise are unfortunately, the names of the game. I would rather have seen a smaller recovery pkg with more $$ going to infrastucture, but despite his popularity, Obama's still the new kid in the WH & noone that wants to get things done down the rd risks alienating folks (especially leaders) in their own party right off the bat.
 
In general, given the circumstances he inherited & the scrutiny/criticism from alot of places, I like what I've seen from Obama & like his thinking in most areas. It makes sense & think overall he has represented the country well. Question is, how much of what he'd like to see happen even be realistic/workable at this point & will his policies/spending economically do more harm than good? Time will tell -
