how does an email draft work???

I have an email draft starting tomorrow morning and this is my first time in a league with this draft type.   It says you get 8 hours for the first pick and after a few rounds it goes to 6 hours.   How do you actually pick?   Do you type the name of the player you want in a reply to a mass email?
