With P. Manning probably going for another surgery & having McCoy starting now. Question is...any other better options than McCoy at home vs. Cincy? I can grab Fitz, Campbell, A. Smith, Dalton, Grossman, Henne, Hasselbeck, Garrard.
Thoughts?

Would you sit Mendenhall vs Balt D? Starting Hillis, Manningham, Holmes & Harvin (can sit one of the WR for Mendenhall). Thinking sitting Harvin for Mendenhall.
Thank you...

I am not the person who started this thread but I figured I will chime in for a conversation point if nothing else.
My take on this is that I generally do not like the idea of sitting my better players just because they are playing tough D's. I know that Mendenhall is not quite a top tier stud but he is also not too far form it. I generally like to ride these guys and not over think things too much (especially i week one).
Harvin is certaintly not a bad option either but my guess is that you view Mendenhall as more of "your guy" and thus I think that you should stick with it. |

#6 Posted: 9/5/2011 1:19:26 AM Agree with matt, Mendenhall may only rack up 60, 70 yards, but should get a few cracks inside the 10 yard line. I think you'd regret sitting a top draft pick in week 1
I'd start McCoy, it's at home , a plus matchup vs Cincy and he's looked real comfortable running that offense so far |

#7 Posted: 9/5/2011 2:48:15 AM 2 rb spots for forte, rice, and cj2k. killed my depth to a guy that wasn't high on cj2k, but ecstatic regardless cuz i didn't have to give up forte either...and cuz it's cj2k lol
i think i'm most likely gonna sit rice against pitt's d |

I think McCoy against Cincinnati week 1 is also who I would go with. I like Fitpatrick more than most so I think I'd definitely grab him as a spot starter along with McCoy. This Manning think is looking more serious every day. Right now I'd guess week 5 at the earliest for him. |

Neither a great PPR option but probably Deangelo Williams. With Newton traveling across the country to get his first start I'd assume Ron Rivera tries to keep things really simple. I expect lots of Williams and a good amount of Stewart as well. Of course if the Panthers fall behind big early, which is a possibility, then who knows what the hell happens. |

I'm not one of these people that says "never sit your studs." It's about putting your best lineup forward, and studs have off weeks too. Mendenhall's stat lines in the 3 games last year against Baltimore were: -25 carries for 79 yards, 2 receptions for yards 9 yards, 2 TDs -19 carries for 45 yards, 3 receptions for 18 yards -20 carries for 46 yards, 1 reception for 13 yards, 2 TDs So his yards per carry aren't pretty but he still managed TDs which I think means you probably have to start him here> One thing I find interesting is that for a guy who only caught 27 total passes in 19 games, he caught 6 total in 3 games against the Ravens. Of course this could easily be a concidence, or it could provide Mendy with a couple extra opportunities for ya. |

If you can only start 2 guys then I'd look to trade Forte to get some of that depth back. Rice has struggled against Pitt so I'd probably lean to CJ & Forte as well. However, I do think Rice will move into that very small group of matchup proof RBs this year.

#13 Posted: 9/5/2011 10:16:19 PM Start Eli Manning or Tony Romo week 1? INT's do not go against me.
Also, I have Dallas Clark and Tony Gonzalez in a PPR league do I roll with DC?

If interceptions don't count against you then Eli Manning. Tough matchup for Romo playing against the Jets in New York on 9/11. This could be like the Saints against the Falcons after Katrina.
Drop Tony Gonzalez. He's completely finished and won't have any fantasy impact this year. There are so many young upside TEs that there has to be a better backup option. Who all is available? Aaron Hernandez? Jared Cook? Lance Kendricks? Jermaine Gresham? |

#17 Posted: 9/6/2011 12:20:52 AM So to answer my question since Brady has Gronkowski, would you start D. Clark or Hernandez? That is if Peyton is out.

#23 Posted: 9/6/2011 12:34:21 PM I have Peyton, Eli, and Cam Newton at QB....with these recent developments about Peyton I went ahead and dropped Cam Newton and picked up Kerry Collins.
QUESTION IS---Should I start Eli or Kerry? I have serious doubts about Eli and think Collins will at least sling it around a bit. What do you guys think? |

How many teams in the league?
You're absolutely loaded at WR. I think Marshall is a steal in fantasy drafts. Everyone points to the 3 TDs last year. He still managed over 1000 yards and 86 catches. He's catches anywhere near that many balls again and he'll double that TD total by accident. If he comes out of the gate strong then look to move him since you have Fitz & Megatron.
If you want to drop someone then I'd make it Crabtree. Again, you're 2 starting spots at WR are set so I don't think you need a ton of depth at the positon.
I feel good about Greene this year but would still look to upgrade my 2nd RB spot if possible.
Move either Schaub or Eli if possible. Schaub probably carries a little more value with the average fantasy player. Not sure there's any difference between the 2 though so move whoever there's interest in.
Week 1 I'd probably go: QB: Stafford RB:Johnson RB: Benson: the Brownies sucked against the run last year WR: Fitz WR: Megatron TE: Clark: but don't be afraid to go with Hernandez Week 2 if the Colts pass catchers struggle Week 1

In a standard league I tend to lean RB over WR in the flex, especially when I think it's close. So I guess I'd go with Greene, but of course I just got done talking up Marshall in the post above this one lol. |
