#5 Posted: 12/18/2012 1:43:56 PM Oh god this game scares me. Baltimore coming off an embarassing loss at home. They've now dropped 2 consecutive home games (and lost their last 3). As Teddy Covers has said, they are clearly a "paper tiger" and have been on the fortunate end of some really ugly efforts (more notably against the Chiefs and Chargers). They are lucky they have clinched a playoff birth and are still in a position to win their division. I am confident the Giants are a better team, but the law of probabilities would say Baltimore is unlikely to drop 4 straight and 3 straight at home, given that they have only lost 3 times at home in the past 2 years. Although, this Ravens team is nowhere near the same health as the Ravens team from last year. Hell, if Charlie Batch can go into M&T and win, I don't see why Eli can't do it too.
This is a tough call, and being a Giants fan, I will abstain from taking a side in this high stakes regular season game. |

#6 Posted: 12/19/2012 6:02:55 AM To me, the Ravens are in real trouble. Eli "should" have a field day with that very weak Ravens secondary and sup par pass rush.
Basically, Baltimore is going to have to play a near perfect game in order to pull this one out. They haven't looked good in well over a month. I know they have a great record at home, but those were different times and different circumstances. I only consider previous years numbers to a point. This they have only played a few really good games, whereas the others they were very fortunate or lost.
Even as a Steelers fan it's shocking to me to see the Ravens play like this (though I love it). Right now they're not the team they used to be. Between the injuries and Jim Caldwell as the new offensive coordinator, bouncing against the Giants will not be easy, even at home.

#7 Posted: 12/19/2012 4:52:32 PM With the use of Ray Rice getting more lost in the offensive scheme and hearing that Torrey Smith has a concussion and Flacco being a flap-jack,it doesn't bode well for the Ravens and almost guarantees a one and done playoff appearance and no Harbaugh Bros SuperBowl.....not that is was likely.
In a must win to stay in (possible) situations,I lean toward the G-Men and will tease them with Cinn and NOR. |

#9 Posted: 12/19/2012 11:04:21 PM If Bradshaw does not play, then take Baltimore. The Giants stunk up the field without Bradshaw in that Falcons game, they become one dimensional |

#11 Posted: 12/20/2012 10:37:04 PM After seeing charlie batch and the steelers win three weeks ago in Baltimore, I said to a couple of my friends who are ravens fans that I think the ravens will lose out (5 in a row). Two weeks later and it's looking more and more possible. I've got no faith in this squad. The same can be said for the giants. They are as Jekyll and Hyde as they come. One week looking like Super Bowl contenders and then the next week looking like they would lose to the Arizona cardinals. But at this point in the season, I just have a little more faith in the giants. Eli and the rest need to flip that switch that they've seemed capable of doing in years past. Time is running out on them and if they don't come away with a W here, they may be done. Desperation time for them and the g-men usually show up in situations like this. GL |

#12 Posted: 12/21/2012 2:23:19 PM Baltimore has a lot to play for too. They're already in for a wildcard, but playing for the division. Cincy is down 1 game and owns the tiebreaker. They've lost 3 straight and offense is finally opening up I always like the home rush dogs. Go Baltimore

#13 Posted: 12/21/2012 7:01:15 PM I think this is a great price with the SB Champion Giants who are in a more desperate situation and clearly the better team with respects to overall talent. people seem to be so "shocked" with the level of play from these Ravens but what they dont understand is this: the Ravens no longer have a dominantly scary defense. in fact, it's rather mediocre right now so im not sure how they plan to stop Eli & Co. Kemoeatu is 33, Ngata is just starting to get over injuries, and other lineman is some nobody named McPhee. Linebacking corps is worse than ever right now >>> Bynes? McClellan? Huh? Ayanbendejo is 36! and then unproven 3rd year guy Upshaw. Now do u understand why Peyton had a field day vs. this squad? No serious pass rush whatsoever. Nor can they consistently stop the run.
Bet Giants. Bradshaw's return will help the running game and Phillips return will improve their secondary. |
