I think the bulldykes have a good shot at a outright win here but I think I will take them first half only because Pat Hill will almost always give up the back door cover..

I WOULDN'T BET AGAINST THIS KID AT HOME.

Colonel good line of thinking.. you could be right..   I will take Fresno at the half and Rutgers for the game...   I figure worst case I push but with a Fresno win their stock goes up and tightens the line for the  Wisconsin game..  So I wait a week for my money. I think that Fresno will UPSET Rutgers with a strong 2nd half performance. Just like last year, Fresno struggled in the 1st half at Texas A&M & then took it to them in the 2nd half & sent the game into overtime ( I believe ) & lost a VERY VERY high scoring game !!!
Final score:  Fresno State 28   Rutgers 24

P.S. - I remember what Fresno State Head Coach, Pat Hill, said to the media a few years ago, " We will play anybody, anytime, anywhere !!"

Sorry Huck QB TEEL is so under the radar I spelled his name wrong. He is 21-8 as a starter.
LR your right about Coach Hill and his comments.
But the same holds true for Rutgers
I don't think Schiano and the Scarlet Knights would be afraid of playing anybody anywhere.
I also cannot pass up the fact that Rutgers is
6-1 ATS in their last 7 opening lined games.
9-2 ATS home vs non-conference opponents.
FRESNO COULD CERTAINLY PROVE ME WRONG ON THIS ONE, THEY ARE A TALENTED GROUP.

I'm with you on this one Colonel. Rutgers at home in week 1 gets the win. Fresno St. is a good team, but I think Rutgers builds off of last season. Now, they expect to win, not hope they win...

FRESNO STATE TO COVER AND A GOOD ML WAGER ALSO. LOOKING AT THE OVER AS MAYBE THE BEST CHOICE OF ALL. FRESNO HAS UNBELIEVABLE TALENT ON THIS SIDE OF THE BALL. THEIR SKILL KIDS TAKE A BACK SEAT TO NOBODY AND PAT HILL HAS THOSE GUYS PLAYING WITH AN ATTITUDE!

Fresno seems to be a trendy pick... not sure if i'm sold on it yet... if its about Fresno being so much better than last year, maybe it's true... but if it's about people thinking Rutgers will drop off so far because Ray Rice left, i'm not so sure... Mike Teel is underrated, and alot of their success of the past couple years has been about defense and offensive line play, and both of those should still be solid...

Utah was trendy too and they beat MI at their place.  I think Fresno can do it.  They gone to many tuff places to play, USC, TN, etc.  You do not replace a great back like Ray Rice, talent and leadership.

I have been on the fence about this game, but it is really hard for me to take Rutgers, they underachieved last year when they had Rice. Fresno is a solid team and I could see them winning. Will wait unitl gametime to make an official pick.

Us here in Jersey have no real faith in this team, however a small wager going with your only decent team in your state  why not. Go scarlet knights, at least this week.

Fresno to win big the offense will not be stoped. Lets just hope the defense holds there own.

Long trip across country, sunny and very warm, heat and humidity is very very different here on the east coast.With the first week, you have to worry about game conditioning, and as you have seen all weekend alot of cramping going on with players. Rutgers definitely will have the edge there, been practicing in it all summer. New Jersey can be ugly this time of year. Teal has grown into a decent QB, they have good lines on both sides of ball. Like Rutgers to win, although dont think will be big, but big enough to cover

If your only basis is the teams' conditioning based on the weather you have to realize that:
 
1.) It looks like it is only going to be about 80-85 at kickoff, probably in the high 70's by the 2nd quarter.
 
2.) It gets to 100 degrees on a regular basis during the summer in Fresno, so I don't think the Bulldogs are worried about the heat.
 
I'm still on the fence on this one, will probably lay off.
