Seems like a lot of points for a Paterno team, but Bama looks strong enough to cover this at home.  Heat is back for the weekend and that will impact PSU's conditioning and depth.  Alabama looked very solid aagainst a weak sister last weekend, PSU slow out of the gate against a nobody as well.  Everyone questions whether Bama can replace all the defensive starters they lost, me too.  Maybe, maybe not, but they have an offense that can overcome some fall off. 

Going to wait until more is known on the injury front, but I am looking at giving the points and taking The Tide to roll Saturday night.  (BTW, thanks to the ADs who schedule interesting OOC match-ups like these.  Always interesting to see how conferences stack up against others in games that matter.)

Even with Ingram out for this game, I cannot see PSU staying close in this one.  Very intimidating, hostile stadium to put a freshman QB into.  Even with all the defensiver talent lost to the NFL, Bama should eat this kid's  lunch and provide short fields to the Tide offense (which is the real strength of Alabama's team.) 

 Bama expanded their stadium to over 100K this year, Saturday night in Tuscaloosa against a quality name will really, excite the masses.  This game will be their coming out party.

i went to auburn so i'm no means a big bama fan.  however, bama covered alot last year and i see them covering this one easily.  i have been mediocre picking games overall so im no expert but i just cant see penn st scoring more than 14 in this game.  that freshman qb will not be able to move that offense consistently down the field and i think bama will wear that penn st defense down with their smashmouth style.  believe me i live in birmingham, it is going to be humid and hot as hell down here sat. night. and penn st will suffer.  some local experts say down here this could be a 4 td win but im not buying into that. bama lost alot of talent on defense but to anyone who doesn't follow these guys... you are in for a wakeup call... the replacements are less experienced but still very talented and the whole offense is back minus ingram but richardson is very very good.  having said all that i predict bama wins 31 to 13.  they did have a couple close calls last year... this won't be one of them.  easy money... im out!
