Did Syracuse move to the BIG 10 they open there season Minn. / Penn St. / Northwestern WTF who made that schedule

This does look like one the books have missed.

So many questions with Syracuse:  eight scholarship players leaving the team, lots of shifting in the defensive backfield and questionable depth, special teams problems, and then, yeah, there's the Paulus issue.

There's going to be a ton of pressure on him in an opening home game and Minnesota's returning 3 starters in their experienced secondary, is starting an experienced defense in general and has several playmakers on offense as well.

6 and a hook for the Gophers feels like pretty safe # to cover at this point.

This is another lock of the week.  Minnesota will murder Syracuse.  Minny gets 17 starters back on both sides including their top RB, Eskridge and one of the better WR/QB duo's in the Big 10 last season in WR Eric Decker and QB Adam Weber.  Weber was also the teams 2nd leading rusher.  Minnesota will finish much higher in the Big 10 standings than the media thinks.
 
Syracuse, on the other hand, has posted points/game averages over the last 4 seasons of 18.1, 16.4, 17.4 and 13.8, but have allowed 32.7, 34.8, 24.6 and 26.8 over that same span. 
 
Minnesota covers this one by plenty.

I see Cuse just lost another starting LB!  This is starting to be one of those "too good to be true" scenarios!

Not so crazy, upsets occur all the time in CFB.  I'm on the GG large$$, but I don't discount that possibility.  When I say "large" I don't mean a BR breaker, I NEVER bet that way.  But it's at the upper limit of the system of MM I use, i.e, % of BR.  Crazy?  I'm on NTX!  I follow Mn. more than ANY other tm, and have 1st hand knowledge as to the improvement of this tm.  Are there still major weaknesses on D?  Of course, but not big enough for a tm like the Cuse to take advantage of them.  Now on the other side of the ball it's a different story.  They'll be explosive.  Barring injury I rate their Offense 3rd best in the B10, PSU & Ill, about even w/OSU.  Only Illinois IMO can match up QB/WR!  BOL just not today!!

All news for Syracuse has been bad all spring. They had 8 scholarship players leave team before or during spring football practice. I have a feeling they did not feel like wasting their time. The coaches are trying all they can to turn this program. They have implemented a spread, no-huddle attack. Then on defense adding a 4-3 scheme with blitzes and press coverages.
 
It will not be enough for Minnesota though. Gophers improved their record by 6 games last year. The largest in the nation. Weber returns after taking all the snaps the last two years and I only think he has gotten better. With a more experienced line he should get the time he needs to be effective. He has thrown for more than 200 yards in 16 of 25 starts and has TD passes in 21 of 25 teams. It is very important for the Gophers to win these non-conference games because they have to travel to Penn St and Ohio St in October.

Hate to feel like I'm with the public, but yes Minnesota is the pick here.

And Scoopydew, yes I think 'Cuse WANTS to join the Big Ten so that may be intentional.  But I doubt they will get invited if they don't start winning some games.  They may but I don't see it on the first week.  Or the second actually.
