do yourself a favor. Don't be a dum dum. I live in Oklahoma. and I can tell you that only advantage OSU has..and it's a good one is the home crowd. That's it.
Offense: advantage OU. OU has a trio of Rbs in Demarco Murray, Brown, and Madu. let's not even talk about Bradford at qb. Remember...OU's mentality is to score on each and every possession. OSU's mentality is to play sound football using the running game and stretch the field with their passing game. They aren't neccesarily trying to score on each and every possession. Remember, this is the same OSU team that was content with running over 85% of the time in a game against a previous opponent. OU played Chattanoga and launched the same aerial assualt on them that they used against CInncy and Ttech. again, 2 different mentalities
Defense: Adantage OU. OU's Dline obliterated the Oline of Ttech the whole game. They won't do that to OSU, but just imagine the hurries they have planned for OSU. Texas Tech is a better team than OSU, but OSU matches up better with OU because of OSU's running game. I've been watching both teams for decades and I can say that this is hands down the best OSU team since the 1988 season. Yes, this OSU team is better than the team that had Rashuan Woods, Josh Fields at qb, and Les Miles as coach. I knew Woods personally, trust me.
Special teams: advantage OU
Coaching: advantage OU. Bob Stoops is hands down one of the top 10 coaches as of today and is arguably a top 5 coach at probably # 4. Mike Gundy is a good coach, but again, he's no Stoops. OU offensive Cordinator Kevin Wilson has creative play calling and has used it consistently.
History of teams: This is the best OSU team since probably 88. THis is not Stoops best OU team. In fact, this is probably Stoops 4th best team. anyone that tells you this is Stoops best OU team is a moron. the 2000, 2003, and 2004 teams were better than this team. Remember, the 2004 OU team was being hailed as the greatest college team of all time before they lost handidly in the championship game.
Before the season started I had OU losing 2 games in the reg season. I've adjusted that. I took alot of abuse for my posts in the OU v Tcu and Ou v Texas spreads on this site. yes I was wrong re OU covering over Texas, but there were plenty of morons doubting OU's ability to cover against TCU. I'm thinking those people didn't live in Oklahoma and didn't have the same consistent info that I had. Remember, this whole process is all about info.
Spread: I had OU -10 in my handicapping. I'm thinking OU -7 is a steal. I'm not sure if Vegas is off on this one, or if they are trying to do a brain tease here. Maybe they're thinking "oh, they just came of a big win against Ttech and it's time for a let down." I can tell you that is a good rationale, but this OU team is a lil different. make no mistake, OSU hates OU. actualy, OSU hates OU more than OU hates them. People in Stillwater Oklahoma (home of OSU for those that don't know) brag about beating OU whenever it happens. People in Norman Oklahoma (home of OU) hardly ever brag about beating OSU. people in Norman are used to bragging about championships....not individual games. OU has been there...done that. OSU is trying to get there.
Take OU -7....and sleep on it mayne.
