I got it at -12.5!   If you see that, get it before it goes to 13.  This is a sold line for this week.

Thinking Purdue first half. They seem to cover first half and then tank in the second. Against ND they were tied and then mailed in a double digit loss. Similar thing against Oregon. Still thinking though.

The over may be the best play here. Purdue's secondary is horrible.

Last 2 seasons in conference on the road, Penn State has won by an average score of 21 to 19.7.

In the last 3 seasons, including their dominant 11-1 season in 2005, Penn State has only won 2 road games by more than 11 points.  A 12-0 win over Purdue two years ago and a 63-10 win over Illinois in 2005 when Illinois was a doormat (2-11 that year)

Purdue at home the last 3 seasons has won their home games in conference by an average score of 26.5 to 21.

Last four seasons at home they have lost by 12 or more only 3 times, with their largest loss being by 17 points on two occassions including a 48-31 loss to Michigan State where the score was 31-24 entering the fourth quarter.  Michigan States last touchdown was scored after a fluke fake punt on 4th down.


Penn State should obviously be favored but not by more than 7 points.  Anything over 7, bet Purdue.

I don't think looking at trends is the way to go here.... I think you seriously need to look at what these teams are doing THIS YEAR, not past years.   Penn St is rocking this year.  I may be a homer but I was not as high on betting them the last two weeks.

They may start slow the 1st qtr but they will absolutely rock the 2nd qtr, and should dominate the 2nd half as well.   Last week v. ILL was the first game out of 5 when the starters actually played in the 4th qtr., and that includes the games v. Oregon St., the team that beat USC.

"Painter at home" -- keep in mind that in 3 career games v. PSU Painter has yet to throw a TD pass in over 100 attempts.   This is a Purdue team that was outscored 24-7 by Notre Dame in the 2nd half last week.

Penn St is very very strong this year -- note that they had no penalties last week in a tough game until about a minute left in the game.  They should cover this with no problem.  Get it before it goes to 14.

Penn State is getting 2007 Patroits spreads now. I wasn't even looking at this game, but now I am. Purdue is everything that captailor indicated.

If you are considering the boilers, plesae think again.  Purdue was not beaten a ranked since the Drew Brees beat Ohio State.  The Curtis Painter area has not beat a school with a winning record.  Last week Purdue's defense was totally pushed during the second half, Notre Dame is not that good.  It hurts to write this because I am a Purdue Graduate and supporter.  Please advise on thinking Purdue in this matchup.

Here's your advice. The line has fallen with almost 75% of bettors placing their money on the Nittany Lions. That's got to at least get your attention. Go up about 8 posts and read captailor's offering and there you go. The Lions are now paying for their early success against also rans and getting spreads that obviously are aimed at taking advantage of the public's perception that the Lions are a colege version of the New England Patriots of 2007. This spread won't happen. Especially when on the road. The Lions are not worthy of getting this type of road spread.

Purdue is capable of giving the Lions problems but in the end Joe Pa's troops will wear them down. Wisconsin is up next for PSU.   Joe Tiller you will be missed especially by us PSU fans.
You are currently 2-7 vs the Lions. Make that 2-8 after Saturday.

Boys and girls......this Penn St. team is for real......I have been on them every week since the first game.......they took a knee at the Illinois 10 to end the game last Saturday......and still almost covered 15, winning by 14 while not playing sharp Def.  Purdue is outmatched in the secondary, outmatched up front.......and the speed that Penn St has this season is more than Joe has had in 20 years.  Purdue needed a miracle to beat C Mich two weeks ago and my Irish ran for more yards in last weeks game against them than any other game in two and a half year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  There are other upset alert games to look at.......this isn't one of them.

C-jim thanks, i like my lafayette -3  but i don;t like to wager on them to much unless they are a big dog, like in the illinos, and K -state games... they should be able to control this game on the ground with qb desormeaux, not the jocky, and TB fenroy, but they are on the road coming off a tough non conference slate, this will be there first league game...... go  ragin cajuns 24-20
