I really like WVA here. Xavier is a great team, and i think this goes down to the last 5 minutes, but WVA (Alexander, Ruoff and Co) are just too tough and battle tested. The tough Big East schedule played all year by WVA will give them the edge down the stretch in this one. Can anyone argue how big of a stud Alexander is? Besides Hansbrough, Lawson, and Curry, who has played better in the tourney?

West Virginia has looked great, but don't be fooled, Duke and Arizona were two of the most overrated schools in the tournament. Arizona snuck in because of what they did against inferior competition while Wise and Bayless were healthy (and then proved that they were the second best team in the state-but still better than NAU by losing to the Mountaineers). Duke snuck past Belmont cause a kid couldn't hold a screen and nobody stopped the ball and then bowed out meekly to WVU in round 2. But the Devils had problems long before that. They haven't really been right in a few weeks as they started they're annual end of the year swoon. The team was too small and too reliant on the three. Eventually both let them down. Xavier played one and half good games (I'm not sure why they didn't show up until half time of the Georgia game) but they beat a fairly solid Purdue team in round 2. My heart says Mountaineers, but my head sees that they were 3-8 vs. the RPI top 50 prior to the NCAA tourney. I have to take the Musketeers and they're 9-4 vs. the RPI top 50 (even if they do come from an overrated league and they did find a way to lose to a god-awful St. Joe's team.... twice) Xavier by 4.

On Sunday night Xavier/WVU went from a PK to WVU -1 and just over 1/2 the $$ was on Xavier and still is, which is odd since WVU is giving a point just like that. Both teams are solid and have been playing good ball throughout all of their games. I agree with everyone when they said that this game will come down to the wire. Staying away from this one. Better game to watch than to bet on.

I HAD XAVIER PLAYING UCLA SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE TOURNAMENT AND I CAN'T TURN BACK NOW. BIG EAST OR NOT, XAVIER'S GONNA BE TOUGH. THERE'S GREAT BALANCE ON THIS TEAM WITH A NICE INSIDE / OUTSIDE GAME. MUSKATEERS OVER MOUNTAINEERS IN THIS ONE.

After much debate, Ive decided to go with the X-men. They really looked good against Purdue last weekend. WVU on the other hand got lucky and beat an overrated Duke team that didn't shoot well in that game. Liking Xavier to win on the boards and get it done tonight.

Xaviers defense will cover Alexander and still have an answer for Ruoff and Butler no problem. Alexander will need an even bigger game then the last in this one, but i dont see him be the factor and i especially dont see some guy off the bench named Joe Mazzula? making anything happen against this Xavier defense. Fortunately enough Xavier has players that wont allow some bench guard to get 13 points, 8 assists and 11 REBOUNDS, everyones saying this guy is a beast, i was watching the game and most of the rebounds were right at the guy or alexander was just boxing like 3 midgets on duke from getting to the basket. We all know having a freshmen as your big man wont be enough unless his name is michael beasley. That game was pathetic and duke is even more pathetic, 0-17 from 3! they lost it for themselves, they were barely even contested shots. West Virginia wont get another freebie like that against this Xavier team, the key is keep Alexander covered, this mountaineer team is lacking in 3 point defense and if the musketeers can make more then duke from 3 then i think this is the ticket for the elite 8 coming the musketeers way. I'm still not impressed with Joe Alexander or Ruoff or anybody else on this West Virginia team. They have a couple of nice games against Arizona and Duke, but they were both teams that matched up very well for the Mountaineers. Here they go up against a much bigger and much more physical Xavier team. I just don't see them having the strength to match up inside. They had a nice little run here, but no way should they be favored in this matchup. The fact that they played in the Big East might help them a little bit, but I don't think the Big East is doing too well in this tournament are they?

Xavier has 5 guys averaging in double digits and came off a tough win versus a scrappy Purdue team. After a big Duke win this is a let down for WV...and by the way Huggy Bear is a peice of trash. Xavier wins this one by 5. Taking Xavier +1 for $3300, Cash It!

I really like WVU here. Both teams playing well and WVU comes from a much better conference. Gotta go with WVU -1
Burgh I respect your picks but you are putting to much emphasis on the big east. It may be the best league in the country but that doesn't mean it has the best teams. West Virginia is a good scrappy team but probably doesn't have enough to finish off Xavier/
