Very quiet on the scanner. Too early for frustration and desperation. Kyle seems to be trying different set ups and nothing he's liked. Logano sounds unconfident. Forty minutes left in practice and the track is completely empty. Does anyone know how many cars will go home if they don't qualify? I heard the field was light this race. Five minutes and one car, Labonte, is running laps. If anything happens I'll update.

Harvick just ran a couple laps and liked it. Said he could move the car around instead of just riding in it. Crew chief said they could go further with the change and be better.

Truex sounds not thrilled. Loose in the turn. Free out. Normal complaints but there's lots of work that needs to be done on the 56 car

Danica sounds like Danica. Clueless. Her crew chief might as well wheel the car, he does everything else.

Newman talked about tire chatter and didn't sound too thrilled about his ride.

Biffle's team sounds lost. Not happy with the car and discussing other teams trying to find something that works.

78, 1 and 18 clammed up. Mark Martin is as upbeat as ever, but things are perfect for him.

Tony Stewart is hard to read. All business. The changes needed in the car weren't drastic. Not bad, but not that good either.

Ambrose, no grip. Lots of cars complaining about slickness.

I think Brad K. likes his car. Last time around he complained about the car, but he said it was more the "package" than the car. His voice sounded confident, unworried and businesslike.

Art. Nothing from either. Haven't seen the 5 making many laps. 43 is running silent. I'll listen more.

Kasey mumbled something about turn 4.

Biffle just made a "nice save". That's never good in practice.

43 ran his last laps when the 5 did. Barely missed him keying up.

43 ran more. He said "terminal velocity for half a tenth" which I guess means he was going balls out and didn't make up the time they were looking for. CC sounded upbeat. Driver too. Dunno.

Logano sounded rattled at the end of practice. His spotter said he liked the car a lot, Joey said he might be able to hold onto it for a lap

Practice over. Qualifying time.

--If you ever do a Dover weekend make sure you go to the Thursday night World of Outlaw Super late model race at Delaware Speedway. Great race last night.---

Funny. Kyle in his 54 car says, "you see this? This is labeled "machine gun", they laugh, "he says it might as well be labeled 100 pounds of down force, ooopps!".

Nationwide, don't think, just bet Gibbs or KBM.

Cool tree. I liked Casey's 5 car in NATIONWIDE practice. He ran 5th best but he ran 10ish lap segments and they were super-consistent, like all in the same tenth.

If you come from open wheels, dirt, jumping motor cycles or anything not NASCAR then coming to Dover for the first time is scary. Pastrana is taking baby steps on the track and actually sounds timid on the radio. Weird for a guy doing all that Nitro garbage.

3 hours of practice and there's lots of rubber laid on the track in the groove, but I don't see much spent rubber dust or hunks on the track like the past. Must be a harder, better wearing tire this weekend. Less handling.
