Hi Guys.....sorry I didn't have a chance to oin in on the conversations on Friday and Saturday. I went to L'vlle on Thursday and my computer got a bad virus and I didn't have a chance to post anything.
For the record, my Top 3 picks (in order) were:
Normandy Invasion
Orb
Revolutionary
Itsmyluckyday
I pretty much unloaded on these in exotics, but from many years of following and betting (and losing my behind) on the Derby, I learned to have at least a backup bet or three, which is based on longshot underalys who I handicap as might having a chance to get in the money.
Fortunlately for me, my back up bet was a $4 exacta wheel: NI & Orb over My Lute, Palace Malace and Golden Sense. I really lucked out with the Orb, Golden Sense exacta collecting about $1,983.
Having said this, I probably lost $10K over the years chasing a decent payout like the Derby exacta.
I am still trying to catch up with emails, post, etc. and will join in on the Preakness conversation.

The Preakness is a totally different race---Pimlico is a totally different track. Orb can win the Preakness, but it might take a great tactical ride with those tight turns and lesser stretch.
Rosario is the hottest jock around right now and if anyone can pilot around Pimlico, it's him.
Departing might be tough--assuming he goes. Stall said he entered the Illinois Derby for the $750,000 purse, not as a Preakness prep.
I look for Goldencents to bounce back, assuming he goes, and maybe Oxbow and Wil Take Charge will improve.
If the field that drf.com says is likely to go, this will be a great race.
