Thought I'd start a Harness thread to see if any interests exists as this looks to be a flats forum. Anyone registered for the Survivor Contest at the Big M?
Race 8 Meadowlands: NW $6,000 L5 starts, optional claimimg $15,000. A few of these claimers have made more than $6k in the L5. Holly's Halo ($9,325), this 4 yr old has the 1 hole and her best bet would be to follow the 8 who is sure to get the top. The perfect trip is possible but i still think she'll come up short. The 2 Ashley Cruiser is slowly moving up the Opt Claiming ranks. ($7,200 L5). Ships in from Yonkers and adds Tetrick which always helps. The 3 & 4 are overmatched. Cowgirls N Indians runs OK at this level and sports sub 155 times in the most recent Big M starts. Pat berry is not one of my favorite drivers with a 4% winning percentage this year. The 6 ships in from cold weather 1/2 mile tracks with limited success. The 7 had great form early in 2010, judging from the most recent trips she'll be lucky to be within 15 lengths of the leader after the first turn. The 8 Lil Miss Nyalation is the obvious choice and favorite. She's run great in this class at 3 different tracks and ships in here. ($19,850 L5) Ever since moving down from the NW of $14k - 25K or $20k claiming ranks she's been a monster. Sports a 153.2 and 151.4 at Chester and some nice runs at Yonkers. The 8 hole is not my fav but with her speed and the lack of any early speed from the 6 or 7 she'll make the front easily. Not much spped in this race other than the 9, 1 & 2 thou i think Tetrick will be happy to clear the 1 and ride the perfect pocket trip. Lil runs in the front and should have more than enough to hold them off down the stretch. The 9 Natural Woman ($9,050 L5) has a ton of early speed, 155.0 and less Big M runs and has run 2nd in her only start in this class @ 45/1. the negatives are she's moving up the claiming ladder, the 9 hole, the wicked speed just inside in the 8 and Jim mahohn who is 0 for 19 in 2011. Jimmy won't pop his cherry on this ride. The 10 is in for a joy ride. I expect the 8 to run a sub 154 mile and unless a few of these push her very hard early she clears them all in mid stretch. might add a few exactas with the 1 and 2 dependant upon the price as those two should be sitting 3rd and 2nd riding the pocket cover. Exacta Key 8 w 1,2. For now $20 Win on the 8 unless the odds are 3/5 or less then no Win play. GL
