Last Night 2 - 2 with the doggies last night. I got a break on the UCLA game...but I'll take it.
I like Stan +2 for tonight's game in TX backyard. And, I will take U 134.5. I am projecting a score in the 65 - 60 range. Stan is very comfortable playing in that range, and I think TX will adjust to that speed too.
I think that Stan can play slower than TX, and really take advantage of the TX inside defense in the 1/2 court. I look for the Lopez brothers to be able to dominate Achtley / Pittman / Johnson inside. I also think that the TX guards will try to help on defense, setting up Fields, Goods, & Hill with good looks from 3pt land. The TX guards are good & get all the pub, but they are very close to the same percentage 3pt shooters as the group from Stanford. Also, a lot of teams have to play help defense when DJ drives, setting up kick-out passes to the TX shooters. With the Lopez twins, Stan will allow the drive, and depend on Lopezs to alter shots. I think this game is a bad match-up personel wise for TX if you look at all 5 positions. Fields, Goods, Washington, & Hill have the size & speed to keep up with the TX guards on the perimeter. TX has very good shooters (& will make shots), but Stan plays good Defense. Lopezs twins are athletic, mean, and ready to dominate. No one on TX matches their size & agility. Rebounds will be key as TX depends upon long rebounds when they miss 3pt shots for 2nd chance pts.
