I get what you're trying to say, but that was really a senior night ceremony. 

It was more to commemorate the seniors that stuck through all the BS their program endured from Sampson's footprint.

It's college sports and it's about the kids...if you're taking it for more than that, you're being cynical and reading into it a little too much.

I have no problem with what they did .. Their last home game @ Indiana. Even though they lost the seniors deserved a little party.. Maybe it even motivates Indiana !

they did'nt care about winning the game they were going to celebrate regardless..

well obviously i didn't write the article fellas. 

if it was about celebrating their career, do that before the game.  have a little introduction and ceremony.  

not after you get your behind handed to you at home and all the fans have left the building.  seriously, no one was really there to observe this.

read the article.

Senior night is handled after the game nearly everywhere. They typically don't do it before the game because the ceremony can be distracting to a team's normal pre-game ritual.

It's a big deal at Kansas, where I want to school and I can't imagine that Indiana is much different. It's a cool event and one that the seniors deserve.

Sure, losing the game takes some of the luster off the celebration but it's recognition for a career, not a celebration of one win. Part of the problem last night was the game didn't get over until late and it was a loss. Bad combo for getting lots of folks to stick around.

This isn't something to get upset about.

yeah i don't think it was just senior night though.  it was sharing the big 10 title.  that is why they cut down the nets.

i'm not upset about it.  just found it amusing.

Did you read the article? It clearly states it was senior night. It says 80% of the people were around for the senior night festivities and explains why they cut down the nets......

The net-cutting followed a Big Ten championship trophy presentation, plus championship hats for the players. The Hoosiers had clinched a tie for the league title on Sunday, when Wisconsin and Michigan State both lost, and this was the first public opportunity to flaunt that fact.
