#1 Posted: 4/1/2012 10:00:50 AM Basic facts: $10 bracket with 146 people in the pool, winner gets 60%, top 4 payout. Kentucky wins, I place 1st and get $876. Kansas wins, I finish tied for 5th, and get $0.
Current line I am seeing is Kansas at +270. How much would you hedge in this spot?
$0 wager : Let it ride Kentucky is clearly the better team. Kentucky wins +$866, Kansas wins -$10
$100 wager: Kentucky wins +$766, Kansas wins +$260
$200 wager: Kentucky wins +$666, Kansas wins +$530
etc...
Thanks for the help in advance

#2 Posted: 4/1/2012 11:28:09 AM Take the points, you could win the bracket contest and your bet. Since its only a $10 investment, bet like $200 on KU +6 and hope for a UK victory inside of the number |

#3 Posted: 4/1/2012 12:39:18 PM I am in the same situation, my payout is only $550 and I have Kentucky over Kansas in my bracket. Sounds greedy but I am thinking of putting my winning possibility on Kentucky ML. I am up big in past month plus so can afford to do so. I think it's their year! |

#4 Posted: 4/1/2012 6:18:17 PM I never hedge parlays, but since this is a different animal, and it's mitigating a NCAA Bracket sheet, you should definitley put $50 on Kansas and win either $816 (most likely) or $130. That's all you should do. KY is the fave for a good reason, and hedging any more would be a bad idea. Or even risk $100, which is what you originally asked. But my bet would be $50 That way you'd be pretty much letting it ride on the better team, but with a questionable young make-up. Just mae sure yourcalculations are correct as far as who gets what and that you win it all if KY wins. What a great position to be in bro. Hang in there |

#5 Posted: 4/1/2012 6:19:59 PM Oops I mistyped I meant you'd win $125 if you bet $50 at +270 and lose the ten on the bracket sheet |
