#1 Posted: 3/8/2012 1:39:59 PM Not sure if he is locked into a VCU contract, so this is just me thinking.....
Illinois?
A middle of the pack SEC or Big East school?
Hes gotta be the number one guy to get after the last 2 years coaching clinic.

#8 Posted: 3/8/2012 1:46:44 PM I hope it's Illinois, but as an Illinois fan, I don't think we can get that lucky. I do know he just signed a new contract with VCU to start this year, so I don't know if he is locked in, or even willing to leave at this point.
His coaching style would be a sharp contrast to most in the Big Ten and I personally believe he would be a perfect fit at Illinois.....
I can only dream.......

#9 Posted: 3/8/2012 1:47:05 PM He isn't going anywhere. He just signed an 8 year contract worth around 13 million total.
There is no reason to leave either. VCU only has 1 senior this year, and has a bunch of freshman, sophomore, and incoming freshman that will make this team very competitive the next few years.
He's also a legend in the Richmond area already. He has absolutely no pressure and I could see him pulling a Mark Few or Brad Stevens and staying here for a very long time. |

i agree with everything you said except the contract part.i dont think that would have anything to do with keeping him there. college coaches are always opting out of deals and im sure he has a buyout or opt out in his contract. and if a big name school offered him 8 years 30 mill or whatever...im not sure what the patinos and boheims of the world make but it must be more then less then 2 mill a year |

#11 Posted: 3/8/2012 1:54:39 PM All indications are that he's not leaving VCU any time soon. He already thinks, perhaps correctly, that he has the best program in the Commonwealth, and seems to be committed to turning VCU into the Gonzaga of the mid-Atlantic. |

#12 Posted: 3/8/2012 2:01:30 PM Triple someones pay and its amazing how fast their tune changes....Coaches make the wrong choice all the time. Rich Rod leaving WV is the 1st name that comes to mind.....

There is a lot wrong with this statement. First off, where exactly is Haith going? Second, Missouri is not middle of the pack. If they are, then the SEC is apparently stronger in basketball than they are in football. |

#15 Posted: 3/8/2012 2:36:48 PM He better stay with VCU. Just let VCU move conferences and see what can happen. The program is skyrocketing as a VCU student with season tickets is amazing to watch them play. their intensity is remarkable |
