BIG PLAY ON STANFORD (ON THE MONEYLINE) --- I guess it's just a money line kinda day today... as all three of my releases are to be played on the money line. Stanford is my favorite game on the board, however, and they are actually getting a point at home.

I like the Cardinal to win this game SU for several reasons, but two of the main reasons is that it's a huge rivalry game AND it's major revenge for the Cardinal. Remember, Cal beat their rivals 69-59 as 8 1/2-point favorites back on January 29th, and that's not a huge surprise considering the home team has won and covered seven of the last eight meetings.


The most recent common opponent that really opened my eyes was Colorado. Cal went to Colorado on the 26th of February, and despite being listed as a three-point favorite, they lost 70-57 and proved once again that they are susceptible to a ton of road losses... even when they're expected to win.


Three days earlier Stanford went to Boulder and absolutely played a brilliant game, winning 74-50 as a 5 1/2-point dog. The Cardinal played one of their best "team games" of the year, with only two players in double figures but a total of 11 players scoring at least 2 points. Granted, Colorado didn't help themselves by shooting just 14-30 from the free throw line, but even if they hit all 16 that they missed they still would have lost by eight.


Revenge, rivalry, and the fact that Stanford is 13-3 at home allowing a mere 57 ppg there is enough for me. Cal usually plays pretty good defense too, but not nearly as well on the road and that's going to be the difference in this game. Both teams average right at 70 points per game (Cal on the road and Stanford at home) but defense wins today.


Take Stanford on the money line as your top play of the day.



MEDIUM PLAY ON MICHIGAN STATE (ON THE MONEYLINE) --- I'm still a little baffled at this line being so low, considering Michigan State hasn't lost a home game all year. In fact, the closest game they've played at home was an 11-point victory and they've covered eight straight games at the Breslin Center.


Talk about defending your home court... Michigan State dominates in East Lansing and when you add in the motivcation of playing a team that is looking to tie you for the regular season Big 10 title, that's all the "extra" motivation you need to play your best basketball.


Not that the Spartans need any extra motivation, playing the #11 team in the country is enough. So why play the money line when the closest game they've played at home all year is 11?


Quite frankly, the line has me worried a little. Michigan State should be at least a six-point favorite, so something stinks and I don't feel like falling for it. I see the majority of the country is backing Michigan State and yet the line isn't moving. That, too, concerns me a little, which is why I'm releasing this thing on the money line.


Ohio State has been playing awful basketball over the past month or so, but I can see them finally deciding to snap out of it today and forcing Michigan State to hit a last-season shot to win, but not by more than three. By releasing them on the money line all I'm asking Sparty to do is win the game.. which is what they've done 17 straight times this year.

Love the Kentucky play Puck. I don't have to much confidence in Florida, as they have lost me money earlier this year, and still have yet to play well, especially if they are off from the 3 point line.

Kentucky has nothing to play for, coach cal thinks its a good idea if they were handed another loss. Florida needs a statement game and they're playing at home on senior day

Either Ky found something to play for or Fl had no statement to make. Mabye the seniors were too busy celebrating.
