A few weeks ago when Woodall came back from injury Pitt was playing some very nice basketball, that run however now seems over. Bad road losses this week against South Florida and now Seton Hall could spell the end of the road for this Panthers team. I won't have a play on them again anytime soon. Michigan bet went about exactly as planned. They jumped out to a nice first half lead, and kept Illinois at arms length the entire 2nd half. Better team controlling the game virtually the entire way. Yes they only covered by 4 but watching the game I just never got the feeling Illinois could get within the number.
Looking over the Monday card now and as is usually the case for Monday's the schedule is pretty thin. I'll see what I can come up with though. Will have some leans up shortly.

Louisville +2 - Going to roll with Pitino and company in this big time Big East match up. Where this Pitino club excels is on the defense end where they rank 11th in the nation in terms of defensive efficiency. Syracuse is a very good team, there's no way around that and there'd be no point for me to even try and claim otherwise in this write up. I just feel tomorrow they'll be facing a red hot team on the road and frankly won't be able to get it done. No shame in losing a tough road game to a team like Louisville, especially the way they're playing right now.

syracuse seems like they can win but not too sure. louisville can put up some good d at home but just not sure which side to side with yet. i think kansas can easily take kst this time on the road. just not the same kst team

Cuse's achilles heel is their rebounding (i.e. lack thereof) - 11th in the conf. Louisville is 2nd best in the conf. Blackshear looks like he's going to be a stud. Could easily see Pitino going 8 straight against Boeheim.

Kansas State +4 - I'll gladly take 4 points at home here in a rivalry game with Kansas State looking for revenge. In a very similar spot last year almost exactly 1 year ago on Feb 14th Kansas came into K State and was throttled 84-68. Kansas State took control of that game earlier and never let off the gas. I use that as an example because in that game Kansas was favored by 6 and thought be just about everyone to be the clearly the better team, which they very well might have been. Truth is they're the better team again tonight, however as we should all know by now, the better team doesn't always win. This game (especially at home) is basically the super bowl of Kansas State's season. When the schedule comes out this is the game all the fans, players, alumni etc circle on the calender. Needless to say we're going to see an wild crowd tonight and a maximum effort performance from the team. Coming off a 2nd half meltdown against Texas on Saturday should only boost the level of focus the team has tonight. As far as Kansas goes, what can you say. Very good team, very few if any real weaknesses and a 1-2 punch of Robinson and Taylor that's probably the best in the nation. All that said this isn't a team that's immune to be being beaten. They've lost conference road games against Iowa State and Missouri and this is a game that should prove to be just as difficult. With the emergence of Jeff Withey lately KSU will have their hands full down low. No way around that. I'll expect increased minutes tonight from Henriquez and Diaz (both 7 footers) to get in there and bang with the Kansas twin towers. It's going to take a solid effort with limited mistakes and quality execution for the Wildcats to pull off a win here. I think they're up to the task.

Hope you are right (from a Mizzou fan) but I'm on KU in this one. KSU was MUCH better last year when they beat the Jayhawks at home. I just don't see how this KSU team that sturggles on offense so much will be able to keep up in this one even at home. They will be pretty desperate though...so who knows. On KU for a couple hundred but like I said as a Mizzou fan if KSU wins it will be the best couple hundred I have spent
