what a collapse by roy's boys--plenty of blame to go around,,to me the worst of it all was kendall marshall's pathetic pass stolen by kelly which led to the fast break,,barnes bonehead drive into at least 2 stationary defenders was just as moronic--the heels got what they deserved--yikes-- 14 made 3's for duke ,,,1 for UNC was far and away the most telling stat

Yep, those two plays were bad.
But neother would have mattered if Duke didn't shoot the friggin' lights out! Was that NC's fault for being too lazy or slow to guard the motion of Duke?
And did Henson touch that airball 3 by Kelly? That would have been the game. And then the 4 step walk by Curry. Wow! But hey, the Dukies still buried 3 balls after both of those breaks.
I feel bad for Zeller. he hustled his butt off and played great and then went down in flames on 3 quick plays at the end. The fluke tip in for Duke, the missed FT and then the failure to get up on Rivers. Wow!
I hope this makes NC tougher for the tourney.
I still love the way they play. Let the kids run and shoot. I hate coaches who insist on controlling the game and working the shot clock and then forcing up a shot.
I've coached and I know that if you run, you face a defense that is off-balance, back-pedaling and maybe short-handed. Why wait till they get back and let them get settled in as you work the shot clock? And you give them the opportunity for a steal while you work the clock. If a guy has an open shot early in the clock and you've got somebody underneath for a rebound, take the open jumper early in the clock rather than a forced one later.

If zeller closes in on rivers with 5 seconds lft,he would have had to either pass it or dribble around zeller for an off balance 2.I think zeller just let rivers toy with him by dribbling as if to say,"come get me." Duke and carolina fans can complain all they want about the refs, lucky breaks, and what if's,but it came down to another espn classic that was won by duke.Good betting trend......when the first game of the series is at the smith center, duke hasn't lost since 1998,and the road team has covered 7 out of the last 9.
