Let me start this off by saying, yes I am a huge Iowa Hawkeye homer...
Alright, now that's out there, I will try to help you guys out why I love Iowa +11.5 tomorrow afternoon against Ohio State. As you probably know, Iowa has now won back to back road games against Wisconsin and Minnesota. This has created more excitement and hope amongst the program than I can ever recall. I have been an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan since I was born, and I can honestly say this is as excited as I have ever been for an Iowa game, and I know for a fact that this feeling is echoed by a lot of Hawkeye nation.
These last 5 years have been brutal, the worst all time. Fran has us on the verge of turning the corner, and while I'm not expecting an Iowa win this afternoon, this team has shown they can compete. They have withheld runs from Wisconsin and Minnesota over the last two games that shows maturity. Tomorrow, there is a very good chance Carver Hawkeye will be sold out. The atmosphere will be electric for sure, and if Iowa can hang in the first half, this place will be LOUD for the second half. It will be an atmospehre that the team can feed off of....
To sum that rant up, there is an excitement around the program that I have not seen for a long, long time. I fully expect the Hawks to come out with a lot of energy and play a heck of a game. Also, Basabe last year played incredibly well last year against Sullinger. He matches up very well against him so that is also a component to look at.
I know there is not much of an analysis on the game itself, but I just wanted to show how much these last two wins have meant to Hawkeye Nation.
I'll say the final score is along the lines of...
Ohio State- 72 Iowa- 67

(I didn;t know there was a Hawkeye Nation? Not trying to be smug, although I do travel heavily and see alot of hawkeye fans around, so maybe theuy do qualify as a "Nation")? I get tired of every team calling themselves a Nation when outside of theirt market nobody even acknowldedges them.)

Wow I really mis-read this one, Iowa is just to young and stupid to compete with good teams. Sloppy play and what are they shooting, 21%? Id stay off the roads if you are anywhere near that arena, if they actually did sell out tehers going to be a lot of pissed-off people flying home.
