The Eagles have too many scoring options for UCLA to handle. Plain and simple. UCLA still gets these lines because they are UCLA and it's absolutely remarkable. Their 3 wins this season have come against teams who are ranked beyond 200 in points per game. One may think that playing in Hawaii and getting pushed around by Kansas and Michigan would strengthen this group up but that doesn't seem to be the case as they lost to Texas at home and got pushed to the limit by Penn.
I'm just happy I didn't jump on the line last night. I loved getting 7.5 last night but now I can get 9.5? Sign me up. People clearly don't know who they're betting on.

I agree with you. My only concern with Eastern is that their style is to either win big or lose big. Aside from Oregon and Gonzaga, which could very well be similar to the matchup vs the Bruins, EWU has dominated within the first 5 minutes and never took their foot off the pedal (Idaho, Hawaii, etc) or the opposite, found themselves down 15 out of the gates and played very sloppy to fall by double digits (Fullerton, WSU).
A little disclaimer, I am an EWU alum so I have my biases...:-) I do like seeing Eagle love though. Especially with the talent that they have this year and their new coach.
Good Luck

Do you think E. Washington ML +442 has a strong chance?
Being a Ucla alum and watching the Wear Twins, Fat boy Josh Smith, Lazeric Jones and co. every game I say every dog ML against Ucla has a strong chance

Hard to say a "strong chance" for a near double digit dog. I think they can win this game but I wouldn't throw my money on that. If I was leaning towards the ML I would rather put that money and add it to the spread.

Thanks Sparky! Put half a unit on the ML. Not overly confident on it. I've got 2 units on the +9.5.
GL, everyone! We'll see how it goes.

Yea...they are hit or miss. But they're playing a team whose simply miss. UCLA doesn't have the offense to run up and down with EWU. And if they try to slow it down...than the game will be close. I don't see any possible way UCLA can win this game by double digits.
I expect EWU to get at least 70 and asking UCLA to get 80+ seems unfathomable.

I respectfully disagree. UCLA has a few things going for them tonight; Reeves Nelson distraction is gone, Howland switching to a zone defense for tonight's game, and Howland is going for a win that will move him into second place all time at UCLA basketball, passing Harrick.
The Bruins last game against the Quakers is a bit misleading. The Quaker's Bernadini could not miss from three point land, and that combined with UCLA's poor free throw shooting kept the game close.
In my opinion this game will look more like the Pepperdine @ UCLA game than the Penn @ UCLA game.

I did watch that last game and I agree. That guy went off with his Grandmother in the stands. But doesn't zone defense allow the opponents to shoot up 3's if they want?
There's always a good arguement for either team if you can find one. But UCLA has never shown me anything.
As for Reeves...his loss will actually hurt this team before it helps them. They need him on that floor and getting minutes. But that isn't coming anytime soon.

Reeves wasn't contributing to that team, and he was a distraction almost every game. While I won't be betting on UCLA, I certainly would not take Eastern Washington. This game feels like the Pepperdine @ UCLA game to me. BOL

If I may add, Tyler Lamb who went to the same high school as my boyz Colony High, b4 going to Mater Dei has not done a damn thing. Tyler still cruises around the hood in the IE and around my block. One of these days, I am gonna stop him and speak with him.

You think the Bruin defense and free throw shooting is gonna magically get better tonight? EWU has some shooters who can bust a zone....not sure who you were making a case for.

In a word, yes. Howland hates the zone, but he's switching for a reason. UCLA has a distinct height advantage, but UCLA is struggling with guard play. It makes sense to switch to a zone.
I still think people are over valuing Eastern Washington and under valuing UCLA, too much.
