Won Monday on the over pts/rebounds prop for Simon. Looked easy after the first half but got closer. Also had success middling the Det game so started the week on a good note
There are 5 games involving Horizon teams. I have chosen to do not analysis Wright St game all-together and no line for Valpo game.
Plays - Read below for reasoning DePaul -4 (got this in am - may go as high as 7) Wis/WGB Under 116 (this keeps climbing so maybe wait)
DePaul @ Loyola - 7pm - Loyola is the lowest scoring team in the Horizon. This showed up when they failed to break the 50 point mark in either game in Wis in both double-digit losses. They just don't have the horses in the stable. When your two best players are pre-med students, that tells you something as to why they went to school. Their only win did come in their only home game against Fordham. DePaul on the other hand can light up the scoreboard. They are averaging in the high 70's. DP got a taste of their own medicine on Monday when Mil shot lights out building a 20+ pt lead early in that game. I see DP being focused in a game that is very close to home. I wouldn't be surprised ff there were more Blue Demon fans than Rambler fans. I could see this being competitive. But, DP's depth and athleticism should take over. I took DP -4 this morning. Would expect this to climb near 7 by game time. My predictor has them winning by at least 9.
WGB @ Wis in Madison - I had a chance to watch Wis frustrate NC as they pushed the Tar Heals to the brink in NC. There are excellent defensively and do a great job moving the ball around. I didn't get a chance to watch the Marq game. I think they may have been caught in a bad situation against a team that plays defense equally well. UWGB started off a little slow but has won two straight in league play. They have to play good defense and rebound to win. Their best player is a 7-footer. They want to get him the ball near the glass so he can finish. Then, if teams collapse, they have a few guys that can knock down 3's. In general, they are a very average team offensively that has good fundamentals. I expect this game to be a slow it down, grind it out game. I have no doubt the Wis will keep GB score in the 40's. The question is how long can GB keep this a game. I am playing under GB team total, Under in the 1st half, Under for the game. If they game looks like it may be starting to get out of control, I will probably hedge my play and go with the over in the 2nd half.
Xavier @ Bulter - 9pm - ESPN - A BIG part of me loves this situation for Butler. They are coming off of a disappointing home loss to Valpo. Xavier has been living on the edge as they are falling behind early in the games before making incredible runs to win games. But, this Butler team is just not very good. They graduated their top talent. They do have guys returning (like Nored) that have a good amount of experience off the bench. But, really, they haven't figured it out yet. They need to be better defensively and hold teams to under 60 points. Due to my lack of confidence here, I am not playing the game. If I were playing it, I would go Butler +6, Butler in the first half +3.5 and sprinkle a bit on each ML.
