#1 Posted: 1/12/2011 12:52:30 AM Record: 92-84-8 Temple: 8-4
Temple wraps up a nice stretch of home games with a very viable and real St. Bonaventure threat. Vegas making us a 14 point favorite means they think Juan Fernandez is going to play. There's no chance they cover that if he doesn't. He is still listed as day-to-day and a student I talk to says Fernandez isn't sure about the game. If he doesn't play, it'll be tough to cover this with the motley crew they have. Another 1st half slow start against a weakling offense in St. Louis. They can't do this again because St. Bonaventure has talent. Nicholson has the potential to dominate inside and cause Eric/Allen foul trouble. The two centers were benched for a lot of the 2nd half due to foul trouble/Dunphy going small. To me this is an open and shut case, Take the Bonnies 1H and take SBU +14. Even if Fernandez plays, this one will be close. SCORE: 68-60 Temple
Elsewhere: William and Mary +9 -- Rozzell broke his hand in practice and will be out for an undisclosed amount of time. The Tribe kept it close the last time these two met and weird things happen in Williamsburg. I think VCU struggles a bit even with the advantage.
Towson +4 -- Trap game for Hofstra with ODU next. The Tigers have a lot of talent but arent deep at all. Hofstra is a one trick pony in Charles Jenkins with some bit players around him.
Tulane +3 -- I was stunned at the Green Wave's record. Doing a little more work on it, I saw they have balanced scoring and a decent homecourt advantage. I don't trust UTEP.
Long Beach State -12 -- No Payne means the 49ers run away with this. Hoping Payne doesn't play.
Leans: Idaho -5.5 CMU -12 Akron -5.5 Duquesne -10 Indiana State -1 |

#3 Posted: 1/12/2011 1:51:18 AM With you on the Bonnies and Idaho, but any concern with Tulane playing the worst non-conference schedule in the country? They've only played two teams in the KenPom Top 150 (Georgetown and Rice). |

Mason's not as sharp on the road and Mathews Arena is a "tough" place to play. Won't be many people there and it'll be freezing cold. Better plays on the board then this. |

#19 Posted: 1/12/2011 2:02:02 PM I have looked on the message boards and can't seem to find anything on Rozzell's injury. Do you happen to have a link/tweet/article?

Right on the money, I just saw it tweeted.
I still don't know about W & M will a freshman backcourt against VCU but the injury kept me from playing it. Thanks

#24 Posted: 1/12/2011 4:33:16 PM Payne's out to the best of my knowledge.
Scary part is, I think they might be better off offensively without him with the resurgence of Eddie Miller. Definitely not better defensively, which would be a cause for concern going against LBSTU.
GL tonight, I enjoy your Temple analysis. |

#25 Posted: 1/12/2011 4:41:26 PM Excellent analysis. I like the Towson play a bit. It was a close call for me,
I hope you sweep the board tonight.
BEST OF LUCK
