I've had a great run since the Super Bowl and then not having a losing week since then til last week when I got stupid and unloaded on Old Dominion, Wake Forest & BYU which turned out to be one of my worst gambling days of my life. I lost 13,900 that day and that was including $2500 I won on UNI 2nd half vs Kansas. That being said I'm still up over 20,000 on the year and up 4g this week and had it not been for Tenn +5, ML & 2nd half +2 I would be down about 8g's this week. Thank you Vols for playing your hearts out. I digress. After the Final 4, then the Masters I usually take time off til College Football. Which brings me to West Virginia vs Kentucky. I've been waiting all Tournament for a game to go big on before I shut down for the season and I think this is it.
WV is a veteran team that has played about 100 tough, physical games over the past few years and are prepared for a game like this. Has Kentucky? Has a team in the SEC really physically challenged Kentucky? Didn't a garbage team like UCONN from the Big East give the Cats a tough game earlier this year. Granted it was early but did we know then that UCONN was garbage? WV is top 5 in the Nation in Offensive Rebounding and although Kentucky is as well, how will the young Cats react to a team that scraps? Cornell held Kentucky to 62 points and about 15% from 3, what will WV defense do? I don't care that Bryant isnt playing either-he hadnt been a factor in some time.
I can't wait to see how Kentucky reacts to guys like Ebanks, Jones & Butler and if this game comes down to the last 5 minutes who would you trust? I'll take a guy like Butler with 7 game winning shots on his resume.
WV takes care of the ball, controls tempo, rebounds and hopefully beats Kentucky.
WV +4 $5500 to win $5000
WV ML $1000 to win $1700

jwheels86, it doesnt hurt that over 80% are on Kentucky either. Favorites have been covering at an alarming rate for an NCAA Tournament and I see it coming to a halt today. I'm making a small play on Butler as well.

How can u say WVU takes care of the ball after coming off a 23 turnover performance and they'll be facing better, quicker, and more talented guards. IMO Idk if Mazzula can handle the guards KU has. Yes WVU has length and size but Kentucky has multiple bigs who crash the boards well. This matchup reminds me a lot of the UConn game where the UConn bigs neutralized WVU's second chance opportunities and their guards outplayed WVU back court and that was when WVU had Truck....I think WVU can keep it close and might cover but I think Calapari and the Wildcats are just gonna keep rollin to that national championship game and end up cuttin down them nets

I forgot to mention that like a true Calipari team Kentucky cant hit free throws either. Kinda like when Memphis choked vs Kansas a couple of years ago.
Ocnnlive, I'll guarantee WV doesnt have 15 to's tomorrow. Huggins is a genius and will have the boys prepared.
Just read in another thread that WV is 11-0 on neutral sites this year. Love it.

ocnnlive, are you kidding me? It's called the Big East brother, those things happen. That's like saying well Kentucky lost to USC. It's a long year. Colorado takes Kansas to OT, Cuse lose to L'ville at home etc etc.

How many final 4 appearances does he have again? And what would KY's record be on neutral sites? If that is what you're basing your wager on then good luck you're going to need it.

Actually remdaddy21 I'm basing my bet on having watched both teams probably 20 times each this year and believing WV is a tougher, more experienced team with better leaders. I don't think I ever said I'm basing my bet on WV neutral site record. Keep hating loser. Don't be mad because you don't have the funds to make a real wager.
And technically Calipari has 0 Final Four's because both were stripped from him for cheating. I mean are you really gonna argue Huggins isnt a great coach because he's been to the Final 4 only once?

No I was going to argue becuase you called him a genius. Cal's teams have gone further and yes they have been stripped, but you know what they say it's better to have won a national championship and lost then to have never been at all!!!

inspecta: i'm a huge big east fan n i know its a long season and i know random upsets and games happen but when lookin at the teams UK reminds me a lot like a UConn team who has decent bigs and a quick back court, which gave WVU problems...I know its a different team different day but I'm just throwin that perspective out there. I think it's gonna be a great game and WVU with 4+ points looks good because when faced with good competition both teams play down to the wire, but I'm on UK ML and just see them eventually cuttin down them nets in Indy. UK just seems to be on a mission and won't be stopped.

ocnn, i hearya brother but i'm gonna be interested to see how the Cats react to an older, more mature team playing physical. If this game is close with 5 minutes left I love WV.

I just want to comment on the strippin of Calapari's final fours....it's not his fault he gets dirty players to come play for him and coaches them up well but are called cheaters since they get other people to take their SAT's cause the only thing they know how to do is puttin the ball in the hoop

and honestly I'm surprised that the NCAA hasn't found this to be the case more often in all college sports cause it definitely does happen more than people want to believe. what it comes down to is the dollar NCAA needs the talented players for TV ratings regardless if they can read or not.

The major angle for me in this game is WV's 1-3 zone. It is rare a team plays this style D and WV uses it well with its length. UK only has 1 day to prepare for it. Cousins will be a beast for WV to handle and that does scare me. No big east team has an inside game like UK. I still like the fact WV will keep it low scoring and they have 3 studs in Butler, Eubanks, and Jones who can carry the team. Watch Wellington Smith with the 3 ball to be the X factor.
WV wins 68-61
