I wouldn't say Barthel is dominate on serve, so I thin Brianti can get a break then just needs to hold once. I'd feel good if I had taken her, though I understand the worry.

What was your reasoning for Cirstea? You were obviously on the correct side and I'd like to learn from my mistake. She definitely has power, but after Hercog's great run last tourney I thought she'd keep some momentum despite her final clubbing. Was it the short line or style matchup?

my reasoning was this. Hercog's was blown out her last match. I mean, she didn't just lose, she LOST! That usually stings for a while and has a hangover effect. She's obviously a great woman's player, but if I change sports to say, football or basketball. How likely am I to take a winning team after being blown out? Not very likely. They usually feel the sting for another game or so (I'm speaking purely from subjective experience). Also, Cirstea has very good clay numbers. Her surface rating was had a high of 2.42 with today's game. Hercog, for comparison, is 2.82 on clay (don't ask me to explain those stats because I can't). Finally, Cristea is only 11 rankings below Hercog, which doesn't amount to much in woman's tennis.

I made some mistakes last night. I posted these plays and then made my bets, which was backwards from my normal work flow. So some of the bets, I think just one or two, I didn't actually place, now that I look at things. I figure out the totals and try to be fair. Cirstea +107 1 unit (I just don't see any other play) = win Navarro -125 1 unit = win (but I didn't place this bet, so it won't count) Halep -105 1 unit = win Voegele -175 2 units = loss (didn't do my research on this one) Robson +5.5 .66 units = win Martic -190 1 unit = win Cornet -260 2 units = ? = currently in the third set Kanepi/Babos over 20.5 1 unit = win(I accidentally place this bet twice so 2 units was risked) Barthel under 18.5 1 unit = win A.Brianti Games Won +6½ -135 = loss = i accidentally placed this bet twice, so it's a 2 unit loss Petra Cetkovska +1052 units = loss Marti/Alund parlay 1 unit = ? Harrison -185 2 units = ? Andreev -195 2 units = win Lopez -115 1.33 units = win = I should have put more units on this one as Mathieu is awful right now. Errani/Brianti and Barrois doubles/Ghedin = win Gojowczyk +170 1 unit = loss Sousa -125 = ? Lajovic -145 1 unit = didn't place = I haven't looked up the outcome yet. Duckworth -150 1 unit (missed him yesterday) = ? Brizzi -110 1 unit = ?
+1.4 units at this point = I lost some matches I took some chances on - small upsets that, for the most part, didn't come through. Oh well. Cornet is in a battle. If she loses that will put me in the negative. I'll figure out the record with yesterday's totals later on. It's all in the previous thread though.
Harrison match is now underway! I need him to win outright. He should, given the level of competition he just got done playing at The Davis Cup. Just hope he's not too jet lagged.

Cornet = win Duckworth = ? Brizzi = ? Harrison = win Sousa = ? (suspended) Lajovic = I was wrong about not placing this bet. I see the winnings in my totals on 5dimes. So he won. But I won't count this in my totals because of my previous post. So, again, Navarro and Lajovic wins won't count and the Brianti +6.5 counts as a two unit loss since I accidentally duplicated my late night wager. I apologize for the mishaps.

Lopez should win, but he's going back to Europe to play in some other tournies after this. There are concerns about his motivation. But I think the surface more than compensates for any psychological issues here.
