Peer's Rank Year Winner Schnyder's Rank
18 TONIGHT Peer
I know this is a sorta simplistic way to look at it, but when using this approach, with numbers similar to these, I have yet to lose.
Back in '05 and '06, the beginning of Peer's career and the prime of Schnyder's, Schnyder won a couple head to head matches. But as you can see as soon as Peer's ranking overtook Schnyder's, she she won is straight sets.
UNLESS A PLAYER IS ON A ROLL OR THERE ARE SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCES THAT COME INTO PLAY REGARDING A CERTAIN MATCH, I FIND THESE #'s TO BE QUITE EFFECTIVE. PEER HASN'T LOST ONE MATCH THIS YEAR TO A PLAYER RANKED NEAR 50, SO WHY WOULD SHE NOW? MANY OF HER LOSES THIS YEAR HAVE BEEN TO TOP 10 PLAYERS.
PEER WINS IN STRAIGHT SETS 6-3, 6-2
Since Peer's last head to head victory, she has only improved while Schnyder has dropped off considerably.
