- James Blake has slipped to Number 55 in the world now
- He has 845 points and has to defend 40% of them in Estoril, he won the tournament in 2009, and Queens, he reached the final losing to Murray. I don't think he believes he will defend anything there, especially in Estoril. Also in Queens last year he reached the final because Roddick slipped and rolled his ankle before Wimbledon and cautiously pulled out...
- 250 points here will do A LOT for him because if he doesn't defend the above mentioned points he will most likely be out of the Top 100 and might as well just quit as he is too old.
- Draw: Dent, Kendrick, Karlovic, Fish and Gulbis or Korolev in the final (worst case scenario). Delray plays slow and Serve & Volley players are not favored and his first 4 matches should be against serve and volleyers.
If he tries hard he should reach the QF easily and play his chances against Karlovic with whom he has won 2 out of 3 in 2009 and the loss came in a Davis Cup 5 sets thriller.
He probably won't get any better shot at 250 points for his career also considering we are in the USA.
If he wants to hang in with the big boys he needs to win here, I am willing to give it a shot.
