Golf rules are that dmmm lengthy and immense, golfers can&#x27;t follow them in every sense. Tigers, with no exception even he is a pro.

Not sure people are accusing him of outright cheating.

It's a common rule (options for your drop), that golfers face on a regular basis. He breached that rule, and should be held accountable. By not self policing (getting an unfair advantage by his drop) and taking a penalty, he signed an incorrect scorecard. He will rue this day, by not doing the right thing and withdrawing.

Bling, the intent (or HD) rule does not apply here. Your options on your drop are very clear, and he did not adher to clearly stated rules. The right thing there, is to realize you violated a rule before you sign your card, access the penalty, and sign the card. By signing an incorrect scorecard, you DQ yourself. Now, the rules committee gave him an out on the 2 strokes, after hearing Tiger admit to taking 2 yards to give him a better yardage.

Toast - I respect your opinion...but once again HE DID NOT SIGN AN INCORRECT SCORECARD.

When Tiger signed his scorecard, the drop he took was deemed LEGAL by the rules committee. Therefor at the time, the 71 he signed for was CORRECT. Morally he signed an incorrect scorecard...but not technically or legally. Recognize the difference.

It all comes down to opinion here and everyone is not going to agree. Thats fine and that is part of life. For the most part everyone just has to respect opinions of others and move on.

How bout this for facts. The average score on a 100 question test on the rules of golf by a PGA Tour official is around 91%.

Only reason I know this is when I played Tight Lies Tour we had an official take the test and she mad a 92% and was in the top 3% of takers

KBrick, You are correct sir! And I do understand that he signed a correct scorecard, but as you put it well, a morally inaccurate one. He knew that he violated very basic - basic rules before he signed his card. Then during the interview, admitted he got an advantage by going back a couple yards to get a better yardage. By the way, why does he need the rules committee to absolve him of a rules violation? Why can he do what Brian David did down at Harbour Town, and self impose? That is why I think this will damage what's left of Tiger's rep. NW, good comments. I have played quite a bit of golf in my life (certainly not on your level), and the rule book is long and confusing, but this was about as straight forward as you can get for a Pro. Anyway, enjoy the golf today. I've been down there 6-7 times helping a buddy entertain customers at a few of the Corporate hospitality places across the street. Quite a place

&#xD;&#xA;Heat of the moment is no excuse, but I think that&#x27;s all it was.  I think he was frustrated by the bounce and wasnt thinking about the rule.  I think the intent was there to create a better shot yardage wise for himself (Granted it was very close to being a legal drop even after all the reviews) but I don&#x27;t think his intent was to cheat.  If the committee had done their job properly following the drop, this would never be an issue.  The committee and officials on the course are out there for this very reason. &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;We have differing opinions, I have no problem with Tiger continuing to play...and have no issues with you thinking he should have WD&#x27;n.

There is no proof that he intentionally broke the rule and none of his actions afterwards and in his post match interview show that he knowing broke it either. Rule 33 was correctly applied here. If Tiger was a normal player who wasn't on TV for every shot, no penalty would have ever been assessed. Rule 33 protects people like Tiger and other popular player who have the unfair disadvantage of having every move they do scrutinized by millions.

Came in here to make the same comment. Hilarious. He was only the center of one of the largest PR disasters in recent history for cheating on his wife with dozens if not hundreds of women. But I agree on this. Wasn&#x27;t cheating.

Sadly, he hung himself. Like Nick Faldo said "He was his own judge and jury" when he said he dropped behind his divot to give himself a better yardage. His INTENT was to give himself a better yardage....................

This is a guy that knows how to move a 1000 lb "loose impediment" but this is the second time he has taken an improper drop. Amazing.........
