Heat of the moment is no excuse, but I think that's all it was. I think he was frustrated by the bounce and wasnt thinking about the rule. I think the intent was there to create a better shot yardage wise for himself (Granted it was very close to being a legal drop even after all the reviews) but I don't think his intent was to cheat. If the committee had done their job properly following the drop, this would never be an issue. The committee and officials on the course are out there for this very reason. ![]()

Sadly, he hung himself. Like Nick Faldo said "He was his own judge and jury" when he said he dropped behind his divot to give himself a better yardage. His INTENT was to give himself a better yardage....................
This is a guy that knows how to move a 1000 lb "loose impediment" but this is the second time he has taken an improper drop. Amazing.........
