Fading Thompson is a good move today imo, his high ball flight is going to hurt him alot today.
That said, Kyle Stanley has one of the highest trajectories on tour and he shot a 69 yesterday.
That is an absolutely FALSE statement. Even in the wind the ball must be coming in high to hold the greens as they have gotten harder and faster as the week goes on. Not saying Thompson will play well but a high ball flight wont be the reason he doesnt

Thanks for pointing that out, you would know. I just assumed the winds going have it's way with the ball much more, but having it come down steeper and softer on a green would be more beneficial.
I've bet many times against Stanley with high winds and it has never really paid off for me either.

thanks for that bit of info. so I guess a combo of windy conditions + soft greens would be ideal to take a low ball flight player vs one with a high ball flight.
I stuck with my Guthrie pick even though the Golf Channel guys had me second guessing ( experience factor )

lost the juice, meh. golf channel was spot on, said his experience at the Open would be a big advantage over the rookie. wish I had saw that before I bet Guthrie.
lesson learned...
