#1 Posted: 8/7/2012 11:55:04 PM ....is Tiger Championship, he's gonna win sooner than later, and I like the fact that he didn't win a tourney before the major... +800 is very good value on him... I think that's the best line I have ever get from my bookie on golf.... 5 units
Donald +1800 1 unit.... if he ever wins a major, I'm gonna cash with him

#3 Posted: 8/8/2012 12:07:55 AM I like the Woods pick but for some reason think the course may be too long for guys with length similar to Donald. ( his strength is putting and I wonder how much the greens will affect the better putters)?
It would be nice to know what kind of roll out these guys will get on the tee shots. In the past longer courses like AAC and Firestone have played hard and fast which help guys like ZJ and Donald compete.
Have you heard either way how fast the fairways will be?

#4 Posted: 8/8/2012 12:09:26 AM BTW, one of my bigger bets this week is Woods -130 over Donald. I felt that price was too good to pass up on this track.

#5 Posted: 8/8/2012 12:20:30 AM Haven't heard anything... I watch a preview on Sportscenter, and a guy said the course overall could get "very very" firm and fast if no rain comes down... IDK if that helps... also the wind should be a factor... but yeah I agree distance it's gonna be a key....
My pick of Donald is more of a chase with him, last 6 majors I have put a unit on him, so until he wins I win |

#7 Posted: 8/8/2012 1:44:52 AM "I like the test that a firm golf course brings,'' he said. "It just brings more shot-making into the equation. ... You've got to land the ball in the correct spots. With it a little bit softer like this, the greens will be holding. With it being like this, there's no bump-and-run. It's just too soft."
As for Dye-designed courses, Woods said, "A lot of it is visual. There's a lot more room out there, whether it's on the fairways or on the greens, than you think. He just makes you look the other way. And he's a masterful designer in that way."

#9 Posted: 8/8/2012 8:53:11 PM I can't get it out of my head how much tiger struggled going from congressional to the slower greens at greenbrier. I'd like him much better on lightning fast greens - all indications here are that they're gonna be pretty slow for a major. |
