I'm trying to figure out how much it would cost me to go there and make it worthwhile. Would be an amazing trip.

Yup, I'll definitely be there.  I went in '06 to Germany and '10 to South Africa and both were unforgettable.  Nothing like it!

Paletta - indeed, after going in 2006 I decided I'd never miss one again.  The biggest sporting event in the world combined with the biggest party...AMAZING!

Donovan scored the goal for the U.S to beat Algeria right in front of us.  Maybe the greatest single sporting moment I've witnessed in person.  From going out to winning the group in a matter of seconds.  Also caught the England/Germany game where the ball clearly went over the goal line but the ref and AR's missed it.  My seats were in the middle of the English fan's section and they were apoplectic. 

Good stuff...put it on the bucket list!
