"Reading midfielder Mikele Leigertwood insists the underdogs will go on the attack in west London." As he was quoted in an article i read. They're trying to mimic the attacking style Swansea had last season, whom took multiple points off the board from top teams in the the premiership. "You can't go in to any games fearing teams or sitting back. You have to attack and put teams under pressure and I'm sure we'll do that,'' Leigertwood told a press conference.

Shows that Reading doesn't have the incentive of sitting back, putting a bunch of players behind the goal. I could see this game going over, and I'm like the Chelsea -1.5 even more now. I punch the ticket at +100, lines shifted to -120 since last night.

we have a group office consortium where we pick the tv game on during the day and bet it together. win, go to solid dinner, etc. we are up just a little and the guys all want to take chelsea money line. complete square play i am sure, just putting it out there.

I think Chelsea will pull it out, but only by a goal.  Predicting a 2-1 type of game.  Definitely like Reading to find the net today.Playing Reading &#x2B;1.5, &#x2B;2 (-128)

I dont pretend to have any magical knowledge of EPL, but didnt Reading nick a draw on a penalty kick in the 90th minute at home with Stoke City over the weekend?

Were they looking ahead to this match, or was it a bad match up for them?

Yes.... I agree w u bake.  But Chelseas a premier team n readings has just come up from the second tier.

nj,I think you and I are thinking similarly. I was throwing this thought out there to those who are convinced Reading will be in this for the entire 90 minutes.  Im not saying they are not, i am merely asking what it is about Reading that impresses people.As far as quotes by players in the media, I take that with a grain of salt.  Yesterday, the Helsinborg coach was quoted as saying that they hoped they drew Celtic in their next round (which they did).....alot of good that did Helsingborg, who lost 2-0 at home.Chelsea at home will be better than Chelsea on the Road at Wigan.  It looked as though Chelsea went up 2-0 right away, and then let Wigan dictate the rest of the match, although Chelsea was never really in any danger.

Some stats I say on skysports just now...Chelsea won 6 of last 9 home league games. Reading has won 7 of 38 premier league away games.

Reading was actually the better team against Stoke, just had a hard time finishing and some bad luck.  But they controlled play. I just like the match-up today.  They say they&#x27;re going to attack, but it&#x27;s the way they play defense that I like.  They are going to force Chelsea out of their standard tactics and make them play a brand of offensive soccer they aren&#x27;t used to.  Eventually Chelsea will figure it, they are just way too talented not to.  But I don&#x27;t believe the disparity between the two clubs is as great as the books are making it out to be. We&#x27;ll see.  I may be WAY off on this one.  I&#x27;ve been wrong A LOT lately. Watch Chelsea go out there and net 5 in the first half like TPS

Bake, Reading were the better team against Stoke. They dominated large parts of the game - the goal they conceded was a terrible GK error. Read my writeup in my thread for more in depth look at the matchup, but saying they got lucky with a late PK is not fair to them at all.

Fair enough. I agree that at face value, a 90th minute PK is lucky. But an overview of the match - Reading deserved a draw at the minimum.
