#1 Posted: 6/6/2012 9:23:58 AM I expect there to be plenty of action in the soccer forum during the Euros, so I will post all my plays in this thread throughout the tournament. Some of my stats and futures can be found in my preview thread. Let's all make some money and enjoy the games.

The greeks have no goal scoring threat an old keeper but a great coach and team spirit that has gotten them results in qualifying. The key for the Greeks will be trying to shut down the spine of Polands squad Szczesny/Piszczek/Blaszczykowski/Lewandowski. The 3 dortmund stars and the Arsenal keeper will be key throughout all of Polands games. I like the fact that Smuda the Polish coach uses the exact formation as Dortmund (4-2-3-1) and no players are being asked to play out of position. This game is going to be low scoring. I would not be surprised if both teams would be happy with a draw. The stadium in Warsaw is very close to the pitch and the atmosphere will be very intimidating for the Greeks, if this was not the opening game I would back the draw, I just see Poland knicking a 1-0 victory in the curtain raiser.
1. Poland ML @ 2.00/+100 (2 Units)
2. Poland/Greece Under 2.5 @ 1.50/-200 (4 Units)

#3 Posted: 6/6/2012 10:16:57 AM Well..Im not so sure about Poles winning this game. I hope so. Im affraid of that suffocating greek defensive style. We were supposed to play counter attack and apparently it looks like we won't be able. Position attack is not our style. Greeks counterattacks can be really dangerous. Polish defense is everything but solid, even Andorra had some chances. If Greeks score, that's the end of the game...GL |

Lukas--- I think everyone has figured out how the Greeks play. I think Poland are due to have a decent showing for once. They are young and the national squad will only get better over time. Playing at home is a HUGE advantage |

The second match of day looks like another close low scoring encounter. I expect yellow cards and maybe even a Red in this physical matchup. I think the Russians will miss key defenders Shishkin & Berezutski, they have old defenders and are lucky not to be facing a squad that can score. The golden days are over for the Czechs, Rosicky is not the player he used to be, neither is Baros, there is no Nedved. Peter Cech will have to stand on his head if the Czechs are going to have a chance. The Russians have more talent and I really like Dzagoev in midfield. Pavluchenko/Arshavin and Pogrebnyak are all in the downturn of their respective careers and I only fancy Kerzhakov to notch a goal here in an ugly win. I also question Advocaats motivation seeing as he is leaving regardless to join PSV after the Euros.
1. Russia ML @ 2.15/+115 (2 Units)
2. Russia/Czech Rep. Under 2.5 @ 1.53/-189 (1 Unit)
3. Red Card in match YES @ 3.75/+275 (1 Unit)

#16 Posted: 6/7/2012 12:41:40 PM I don't have the knowledge that others in the Forum possess in intl play, as my capping is strongest in league competition. I am soaking all this in like a sponge. |

I had a kick behind WC in 2010,2006 and Euro in 2008........but a garbage Copa. I'm hoping for a 20 Unit profit and I'll be happy |

#20 Posted: 6/7/2012 3:28:14 PM wow...what an stupid statement to say greece and poland will be happy with the draw-- ....greece maybe--but poland i dont think so, as it is their euro and will play in their own field --- i dont see poland folding the tents and be happy to en up with a scoreless draw or winnig by just 1 goal

Lucky---
Shark---thanks for your indepth reply and analysis that we see from you here in the soccer forum on a regular basis.
Both teams are playing not to lose first and it would not be a bad result coming away with a point from a tight group. There is no way Poland is going all out to win by 2 or more here. |
