hey P make sure whatever you do, keep your daughter in mind..... for many people it takes a drastic event to change themselves for the better. Do not give up, hang in there, take it a day at a time, be thankful for your health and that nothing worse occured. I have been down the same road as you buddy and sometimes it's hard to focus. Remind yourself of what your priorities are every morning. You are not a bad person and everyone screws up sometimes in their lives and everyone has their own battles just remember your daughter needs you more than anything. You are the only father she will ever have. Take a deep breath focus at the end of the storm there is a golden sky.

I just want to take the time to thanks everyone from the bottom of my heart, you really are great and I can't thank you enough..
Right now everything is a bit of blur, very worried..It is going to be a long road and I will take it one day at a time.
Thank you SO MUCH to everyone,
I might be back here but not sure when..
Just saw this thread. Don't know if you have already been to court yet. I will say, that some people here have given you some good advise. I got my third DUI many years ago and was looking at jail time, but (on some good advise from some people close to me) I went into an in-house 3 week rehab program and then got solidly into AA. I don't know exactly how much it influenced the judge but I do know that I had a very good Attorney who presented these things to the judge. I ended up with with two years probation, 100 hours of community service and a $2,000 fine. Part of the probation was that I had to go to at least 3 AA meetings a week and have the court ordered paperwork signed eaach time that I had been in attendance. Best thing that ever happened to me as now I have 18 years of sobriety with all that crap well behind me. Best of luck to you. Whatever actions you take, just remember that they have to come from your heart and if you truely have a desire to be there for your daughter (and more importantly - for yourself) then get into some rehab and the program and take care of yourself from an emotional and spiritual sense
