What leagues do you like betting on and why ??

A question for soccer fans & bettors in the forum, how do you choose the leagues that you bet on and what leagues do you follow closely from a betting perspective and also from a purely fans based outlook ?
Sometimes I think it can be hard to keep up with what's going on in the major European leagues never mind what's happening in the other less well known hotbeds of European football.For example on a typical Saturday you have over 100 games to choose from in England and Scotland alone and when you take into account the other major leagues across the continent like France,Germany,Holland along with the likes of Austria,Denmark, Belgium,Romania etc and not to mention the South American and rest of the world games, there are literally hundreds of games to choose from wagering wise.So how do you choose your favourite leagues and teams to follow ?

For me these are my favourite leagues to bet on (in order)and a brief reason why

1. English Premiership
  Has the best players along with the best TV and media coverage.Been following this league for years so I have a good knowledge of all the teams and players involved.Betting wise I think it is fairly predictable and it can be easy to find value with underdogs and totals.

2. Italian Serie A
  Again I have been following this league since the mid 1990's from the days of Channel 4's excellent live match coverage along with the weekly Gazzetta Football Italia show.Have been betting on it for nearly 7 years now.When I started betting on Italian football I found it easy to pick draws and when making picks I always have the draw at the back of my mind when looking at games to bet on.A great league with fantastic players down thru the years with Gullit,Baggio,Vialli,Ravanelli,Weah,Batistuta and dozens more.Although it used to be at the pinnacle of European football but it is now in 3rd place behind Spain & England.

3. Spanish La Liga
   Arguably the best league in the world with the two biggest clubs, La Liga is only a recent interest for me.Has got good coverage on SkySports and plenty of live games but I generally prefer to watch English or Italian football.Good opportunities for wagering on as well.

4.English Championship
  Most teams in this league are familiar as a lot of them have been in the Premiership at some point over the past 5 or 6 years.Plenty of live football from this league and quality is not too bad either.Media coverage is good either with newspapers or websites for match previews and post match reports & analysis.Betting wise can be good to pick games if there is nothing of interest that day going on in the Premiership.

5. Champions League & Europa League
  Probably the best football competition in the world bar the World Cup has all the big names from Europe and plenty of games to choose from betting wise on a normally quiet midweek evening.Europa League good for Thursday night betting only.Can be a minefield at times and I generally try to avoid these games if possible but someimes you can get nice totals or both to score props.

6. French Ligue 1
  Perfect for chasers who have lost on the Saturday afternoon games But seriously with having most games kick off on a Saturday evening it is perfect for those who split Saturdays into early and late bets.Quality of the football is not bad either and there are always nice asian handicap dogs to pick from in this league and a lot of totals set at 2.

Other leagues

German Bundesliga 
  Don't follow this league too closely but it is usually good for overs.Games clash with English KO times as well so I don't really bet on this league often.Friday night games are nice to have on a usually quiet evening.

Dutch Eerste Divisie & French Ligue 2
  Both of these leagues are primarily Friday night games so it's good to have action and a full set of fixtures to pick from on a normally quiet footballing day.Dutch Jupiler league good for overs usually.

English Leagues 1 & 2 along with Carling Cup & Blue Square Premier Conference
  L1 & L2 only bet on these if there's absolutely nothing of interest in the Prem or Championship.Sometimes you can get good value but I generally don't follow these leagues closely, just read certain match reports from time to time and keep an eye on the tables.Carling Cup good for midweek action when it comes around.Blue Sq Conf can be good for overs but it would be nice to have more games on a Monday as most games clash with the rest of the Englsih fixtures at 3.00 on a Saturday.

Must also mention Internationals mostly European Championship & World Cup qualifiers only.Don't really pay much attention to African or Asian tournaments but I like to keep an eye on the South American games as well.

So what your favourite leagues ?? 

I dont think you can put 4 before 5 here. I said this yr, I am only betting on those 4

You can say Liga is better, but its a 2 team league

I guess that if you live in Europe you'll mention your country league first because you probably know the teams, players and coaches in higher detail.
For me, EPL, Portuguese SuperLiga, La Liga and European Competitions (not in order of preference) are my favorites.
Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 also sometimes but not as often.
It's rare to play other leagues maybe because I don't have as much information to evaluate so I tend to stay away.

No doubt the Champion's League is better than the English 2nd divison but the Championship offers betting action every Saturday and also when there is midweek Champion's League games as well.The Champion's League group stages only has 6 rounds of group games over a 4 month period form Sept to December and then it's the knockout phases which are equally sporadic.
I would say that's it's better to bet the UEFA CL games but I like the regular Saturday afternoon action the Championship offers

ICELAND WOMAN LEAGUE

i usually follow the leagues where i know the players as well ,

La Liga is the best league to bet if you focus on Barca and Real but you need to have the guts for the juice on ML which almost always pays. I bet them at home ML and over and normally just totals when on road unless its a clear miss match and ML price right.

La Liga... Don't like betting Barca and Real to much -- like more Mallorca, Espanyol, Malaga, Getafe and Racing...
Love EPL, but don't like Serie A to much as I sruggle to figure out some of the teams...

I should also mention that the above leagues are the ONLY ones I bet even though for the last couple of weeks I've been including a couple of Dutch Eredivisie games on Saturdays & Sundays in my parlays but that's just to tide me over until La Liga and Serie A come back next week 

So you won't find me betting on the Austrian Bundesliga or on the Serbian,Russian,Greek or Portuguese leagues 

But next Summer I want to have a look at the Norwegian,Swedish,and possibly Finnish leagues as there is no major tournament on and I am Not going back betting on baseball bores the hell out of me   and it is about as volatile to bet on as the virtual horse racing that you see in some bookies over here
Might have a look at tennis again though   used to bet on it years ago in the off season

I also like Holland as the teams are consistent, TINA as the favored home team tends to cover or go under, EPL, except the larger faves in the larger league tend to be very public and overpriced.

French Ligue 1 totals at 2 are nice

Austrian clubs are pretty consistent, and german clubs are fun to bet.

1. EPL

I remember as a little kid I had this collection book or whatever it's called where I could buy stickers of each player on each team and I could fill up my book with these stickers. And with transfers I had to replace stickers on the teams and so on. Anyway, it was very cool at that time.

Basically the league I've always watched on the telly and always felt it was the best football to watch even though I had access to Serie A and Bundes at that time. Schmeichel and Cantona was my idols and United my team since a kid.

2. Norwegian soccer

Basically because I know the teams and players, info is widely available and so on. Although most norwegians themselves like to name this league "the bingo league" because upsets are a known thing every week, and top teams aren't remotely close to being stable and winning every week as the top teams in EPL can do, like Chelsea. But since there are upsets every week that means there are money to be made if you can spot those upsets. I like it. But also hate it sometimes, lol.

3. Spanish La Liga

I only began betting this league about 2,5 years ago. At that time it was being scored lots of goal in this league and midfield players were scoring and cashing on a regular basis at +300 and higher prices. Alternative overs at 3.5 and 4.5 were also cashing nicely and my love to the league came as quick as my bankroll started to grow. My love for plus money plays came after cashing many plus money bets in this league. So thank you, La Liga.

Also like betting on Champion's League, sometimes English Championship, some Italian Serie A mostly goal scorer bets from that league, very rarely French Ligue 1 / 2, sometimes Bundesliga - I have an eye on a couple of goal scorers in that league as well, but English, Norwegian and Spanish football are the ones for me betting wise.

I usually try to stick to EPL, Italy, France (sometimes), Belguim, Czech Republic, and the Nordic countries.
