I'm sure most of you remember me. It's been a couple months since I've been on here and placed any wagers. But I wanted to reconnect with all of you, because many here I think of not just wagering/sports buddies but actual friends.
It all started back before the World Cup. I was riding high, had my account to an all time high, was making withdrawls left and right, etc.. it was good.
Then it all came crashing down. The first blow was when I had France beating China as a last leg of a parlay. You all remember that friendly.. France lost outright and I took a good blow on that one. I had some bad luck in MLB too, and that compounded the problem. Still, nothing I couldn't get out of. Then the World Cup started, and a bigger blow came. I can't remember which team I had parlayed in NBA, but whatever it was won that game. All I needed was Spain to beat the Swiss, of course everyone remembers Spain lost, the only damn game they lost at the WC by the way. But then I got a double blow, as after Spain went down 1/0 I wagered that Spain would at least tie the damn game. I Spain would have tied or won, I would have been back on square one. But they lost the damn game!
I rebuilt my bank somewhat after this, but then the coup de gras came as I wagered the last of my account on Italy beating New Zealand.. end of story, game over right there. It was a goddamned nightmare. I was just sick of the whole thing. I don't know where I went wrong, how I managed to get into this situation.
Things went even worse as I lost my job due to a layoff. Times were slow and I was no longer needed. Long story short, this has been the worst period of my life. I'm down, out and lat out broke. I'm not looking for sympathy, please don't assume that. I look forward to reconnecting with all my buddies on here and throughout the forum. Just remember this post and be very careful. I always preached good money management, but one slip up and your done. Which is what happened to me.. and add on the job loss too and boom goes the dynamite.
So that's whare I have been if anyone was wondering. Once I get a few bucks together I will be back... I'm not an addict or anything, I know I can't afford this right now, but I love sports and love to wager.. and damn.. college and NFL is around the corner.. EPL and Euro soccer leagues starting.. drats.. lol.
Hope everyone wins money today and the future.. I see P still posting his ton of plays as usual hehe...

Hey mate, I suggest still capping. Stay in the swing of things and start with 1000 of Monopoly money and go at it, if you have time ofcourse. Good luck with things. Stand strong, life will get better. Similar things have happened to us all. I used the time for family. It humbles you but, in my case, made me realize where my priorities should be and what I was missing with my family and friends.
Set a goal, one bet a day, one win a day. 10 % of bank always. Too much of anything is bad

Funny how things can change from being on top feeling like you're kicking the books' asses to being the one getting kicked and
I can totally relate to this. Actually more or less the same thing happened with my roll a year or so ago. I was rolling on an all time high, not completely knowing what to do with all this money. Will not mention any amounts, but I could wager amounts I had no expectations of wagering when I first started betting.
I think it all comes down to experience dealing with a big roll. I'm not sure about you, but I wasn't experienced enough to be handling such a roll, perhaps betting too much. You know, more wants more and you start to calculate and find out you could make some serious cash if you keep up the good run you're on.
But up must come down. And it really SUCKS coming down from such a high. Damn, that hurts bro.
Sorry to hear about your job as well, that's just bad timing. I hope you find a new one soon and get things back on track.
I think every gambler will face the very same situation at least once, but more likely several times in their gambling "career". Anyone saying they haven't are probably lying.
Anyways, good luck in the future. It sucks starting up with a small bankroll that needs to be built from the ground up again.
I hope to see you around here, ice.

Welcome back Ice! Keep your head up and like most have very well mentioned/suggested, discipline is the key (and even with discipline it is very hard to beat the bookies).

It was said above but most of us have been there. I like the idea of you still posting your picks but for now use Monopoly money, I wish I would have used it the last couple days!!
Accually looked you up a few weeks back to see if you were posting anywhere else, miss your insite on the games and would be great to have you back here. While hardly anyone knows each other, we are all here for each other.

I havent heard anyone use the word "drats" since the last Charlie Brown and snoopy show I watched with my kids...
Iceman, you're a good dude. You know your stuff when it comes to parlays. It seems like the top teams' one or two major slip ups in the WC hurt alot of people.(spains loss, germany's loss and yes, france's loss to china.)
Its good to take a break from this stuff and get a proper perspective on life. i tell people, it this shit aint fun, then why are we doin it? (sounds like billyloco!!!)
You got a great groups of guys in this forum (except DerekPatten), and if newrebel could scream to you from the box, he would say just follow him to the Pinny promised land!!!
