Bolton at home and especially Wolverhampton away VS Burnley.
Not to say that Burnley is not a tough team to beat at home, but they haven't exactly been in top form lately. Whilst Wolverhampton have been like Bolton for quite some time, I believe they are a ticking bomb just like Bolton. And wouldn't today, away from home and priced at above +200, just be that perfect day for things to click and that fuse to burn all the way down and BOOM - get some goals and an impressive away win?
The problem have been ineffectiveness for the Wolves, but their play have been good. We have seen them face Chelsea and United lately, coming out of it pretty good both times, though at home in these games, but nonetheless. Against Chelsea they could of have gone up in the lead, or come back from 1-0 and 2-0, but they just didn't use their chances. Against United now lately they lost 1-0 but could have gotten a draw out of that game. I was jumping out of my seat late in that game because a wolves player got the ball from an exquisite long pass, but failed to convert almost 1 on 1.
Wolves have been playing better than what they have gotten in terms of results lately and the work they have put in haven't paid off. Eventually, though, it will result in points. 1 or even three points, it's inevitable. Today - away from home as slightly underdogs again - I think will be a good oppurtinity for the HUNGRY WOLVES to get a bite of that Burnley meat.
That is at least my first thoughts on the matchup.
Surprisingly many people like Wigan to either draw or win this game today and you can get about evens odds if you feel the same. Just because they won 1-0 over Liverpool doesn't mean they will travel to Reebok Stadium and walk onto this field and get any points. You can bet your ass off that Bolton will be even more hungrier than the wolves will be against Burnlety - to get another home win. They got their breakthrough 1-0 win at home in last game and followed up by beating West Ham on the road 2-1. There was no surprise really that Sunderland had a good thing coming their way anytime soon as they have been absolute rubbish for long and Darren Bent had been just waiting to explode on his own. Bolton was in a bad spot when they faced Sunderland. Today however, they meat up with Wigan who's just beaten Liverpool. That will be a confidence booster for sure. And heck, they played really good in that game. But it was at home and against a Liverpool side who hasn't been a threat away from home. Quite the contrary, they have been sucking. And lost in the europa league to Lille 1-0 as well away from home.
I see a little let down by Wigan today, I don't expect them to bring their best like they did against the top team POOL.
Bolton rolls at home and keeps this momentum going for them. In their schedule for future games Bolton has the following: Everton away, Manchester at home, Aston Villa at home, Chelsea away. That's one heck of a schedule. I believe Bolton will struggle against most of these if not all teams. They are solid opponents. After Chelsea they will face Stoke away as well and in this game they might get a break and manage a draw or win whilst EVERYONE will back Stoke because they are strong at home and so on, but Bolton will upset. And then they host Portsmouth, finally a game they can destroy a team in.
But as you see - a very tough schedule for Bolton. All that matters for them - maybe the presence in the league for them on the line - they need 3 points today. They got the momentum they got their confidence back, they got their new formation/tactics and so on from their new coach finally going - and at home - against Wigan who everyone now thinks is in form just because they beat Liverpool and had a good game there - no - I will put my trust in Bolton.
This is my first thoughts on this game.
Sip. Another cup of coffee.
