trying to plop down a fat bet on Santorum.  whats the best site to use for this type of wager?  Bodog had him at 15/1 earlier today.  Obvioiusly he won't be such a longshot any more but I still think there will be value before most people catch up.

also, you should research the delegate process. the caucuses from tuesday night mean garbage because it is only the first step in gaining delegates from those 3 states.

translation - he won nothing on tuesday night and never had the ground game to get the delegates for the national convention

Santorum is currently a 17% shot on intrade to win the republican nomination so he should be about +500 to win the nomination. Factor that with a +150 or so to beat Obama and anything in the 15-1 range is pretty solid.

Those of you saying he should flush his money down the toilet are nothing short of ignorant. There is always a price that makes a bet worth it, no matter how impossible you may think it is.

This isn't Dewey and Truman.

And CD is right, that price isn't even close to what I would need to make a play.  I honestly give him about a 1% chance.

What you need to understand is that this is the way it works.  They don't like the favorite to slam dunk the thing.  But when someone else gets some traction, they smear the piss out of them and things get back to "normal" (just ask Newt about this as he got chopped down after he looked like he may be gaining some steam).  Besides, the losers are also trying to position themselves to get certain things.....so they know there can be a payoff if they stick it out for a while.

Santorum might be the flavor of the week, but he has absolutely no shot.

and santorum is probably the least electable of all the 15 minutes of fame republicans,  tied with bahcmannia.

1% chance of santorum winning

25% chance of another one of these starring santorum

24.95% chance of option #2 with the guy in the other stall being rightwing South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint

I already laid -170 on the imbecile. At least when he wins I will get a lunch on him. And if he loses by some chance I will gladly sacrifice my bet.

I'm not saying you're right or wrong but if you really feel this way, you should sign up at intrade.com.

No need to guess.  Santorum is 6.2% chance to win the Presidency at Intrade.  Quick math I think that translates to around 17-1.  Personally feel that's far too high.  Ought to be getting at least 25-1.

Take your money in singles to the Walmart parking lot. Throw your bankroll into the air. Far greater good for many more people.

Ohh okay I just saw Obama to win, not the individual republican candidates. 6.2% is between 15 and 16-1. (6-94) I have no valid opinion on the matter but the general belief on here sounds like he should be closer to 3%.

I would bet right now that Obama gets re-elected.

He may be doing a pretty bad job, but considering the competition, he will win.

Personally, I wish Ron Paul softened his stance a bit as I love what the guy stands for and he could take down Obama and get the US on track again.

Yes, I expect a back lash lol
