Of pot all packaged into smaller denominations of course. Also had couple grams of hash, about $40k in cash, weed trimmings (from recent growhouse cut) at his place and tons of bongs/pipes. Prob had at least 5 diff types of weed sitting in various jars and bags, and a ton of cash, all in a huge safe.
They hit him with intent to distribute, possession and paraphenalia. He also has been busted for intent to distribute a few years ago but smaller scale and miraculously wiggled his way out of jail time b/c of a good lawyer.
So second intent to distribute charge.......10lbs, $40k cash, safes, hash etc.........how fucked is he?
6 months? 2 years? This is in Maryland by the way.....

Jan. 28--A Pasadena man will spend 30 days in jail for bringing nearly a quarter of a million dollars worth of marijuana into the state.
He said his client, a 1988 Severna Park High School graduate who has no prior criminal record, made a big mistake and was forthright about that with police. Any profit was lost when Hollywood was arrested.
Circuit Judge Paul A. Hackner sentenced Hollywood to five years in prison, suspending all but 30 days. The sentence, which begins next Friday may be served on weekends.
The sentence is followed by three years of supervised probation.

Here's where the PRIOR makes things very tricky

Maryland law regarding possesion with intent to distribute but under 50 lbs. is up to 5 years in jail and a $15,000 fine.If it is indeed your second offense the judge can and likely will double the sentence.
If your friend happened to be located within a school zone when busted.

eddygordo, thats why i posted the link. POUNDS OF MARIJUANA, WITH SCALES, etc. basically same charge intent to distribute as your buddy. ALSO in the same state. ALSO MORE than your buddy. AND a ridiculously easy sentence. I wish that guy had a prior then it'd be almost exact scenario lol.

Let me say that from what I've seen on the boards you are a good/smart guy Search, so I say this with all due respect, but are you just speculating or do you have any experience in the legal field or with situations like this?
5-10 seems a bit harsh for just weed. I was thinking 3 years TOPS!

ss - I know a guy that lives between Antietam and Harpers Ferry that was caught growing (he thinks that the DirecTV guy ratted him out). Anyhow he worked for the US gov. and was months away from retiring when caught. He lost his job/pension and served two years. Even though he maintained that he was growing for his personal use,he got distribution because he admitted to serving his party guests some high octane brownies.

There are 2,782 miles between Redding, Calif., and Eldersburg, Md. Robert Alan Tryson covered all but about 60 miles of that journey before he was pulled over in a rented Cadillac loaded with 104 pounds of marijuana.
Tryson, 44, of Eldersburg was in Washington County Circuit Court Thursday, where he pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Judge M. Kenneth Long Jr. sentenced Tryson to one year and one day in prison. In exchange for the plea, charges of importing marijuana into the state, possession of a large amount of marijuana and possession of marijuana were dismissed, according to court records.
Tryson was eastbound on Interstate 70 on Nov. 1 when a Maryland state trooper pulled him over doing 73 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to the statement of probable cause.
NO RECORD THOUGH!
I was hoping to read that 5-10yrs is alot and was hoping this guy had a prior but all the small sentences are with no priors.
He had no previous criminal record and cooperated with police following his arrest, Veil said.

more then likely itll be a max sentence but reduced or hopefully with a f*cking great lawyer, suspended with a fine and little jail time. look up maryland laws and do the math.
no weapons helps.
prior with a scale means the max.
