post a good link, want free antivirus protection, but seems like every one i find its just more spam....wat do u use

I don't bother with anti-virus protection. I just keep my pc simple and every 6 or so months, I just reformat it and download the basics. It's like a brand new computer all over again. But that's just me. 

But if you got like a gazillion things on your pc, it's better off to just fork over a little dough for a little piece of mind.

Like mentioned above, get a Mac. I have a MacBook Air and love it...expensive but well worth it bud.

Well, eventually Macs will start to get more viruses.  Not that many people have Macs, so the people who write the viruses go after people running Windows, but for now they are great.

If you look on the right side, you'll see the top downloaded programs.

AVG or Avast Antivirus is always one of the top 3. Download either one. They used to be about even in downloads. I chose AVG and have just stuck with it. Never had a problem.

Never really had issues with viruses though. Unless you're old as shit and naiive about the internet, you should know what stuff not to click on.

I don't like downloading torrents unless I absolutely have to. Only downloaded like 2 in my life to get a windows 7 install disc. Too much stuff goin on in those things.

I dunno how that happened, not that it matters, but I use Avast, NOT AVG. Most people say it's the same anyways.

You have to register for a license to get updates on avast, but if you really care, you can make up entirely phony information and it won't matter.

I disagree with Avast/AVG, those were both good 5-10 years ago but times change. I hate the company but Microsoft security essentials works the best on the 100+ systems I've installed it on:

It's free, not a resource hog and is updated every other day or so.

The easiest way to avoid Trjoans though is to create a 2nd user account and turn off admin rights on that one. And when you do need to install something, flip back to the admin account.
