Holy garbage people, get prepared, go out and buy EVERYTHING you can.

We all need food, water, generators, batteries, flashlights.
All Hell is breaking loose...
FOR GOD'S SAKE
Go out and spend all your money ASAP.
Oh the drama.

#16 Posted: 8/26/2011 1:57:52 AM If you are in an area likely to get hit-
Buy as much water as you can find- fill your bathtub for "nonpotable" use-
Batteries.....
Charcoal or propane.........get ready to grill-

#17 Posted: 8/26/2011 2:03:18 AM I'm glad I don't live on the east coast anymore.
Regardless of my situation, I hope you all stay safe and are prepared if the storm is in your path.
During minor hurricanes when I lived in Florida we used to have hurricane parties and get drunk in kayaks as the neighborhood would pond up with water and paddle around. This doesn't seem like the type of storm you should get crunk in. The mid-atlantic and northeast don't have the drainage and everything Fla does so flooding is a big problem in those areas when it happens. Especially flash floods.
Floods aren't a friggin joke. My best friend died in a hurricane back in 05 from a flood. Don't try to drive in that garbage, seriously. You could kill yourself or others. Get to a safe place beforehand with all your friends and family. |

#23 Posted: 8/26/2011 9:16:39 AM You guys in the NE have nothing to worry about, its a big rain storm by the time it reaches you guys, flooding might be a problem
Look at the bright side, you get a couple days off of work to gamble and get darn up
Here my advice from a Hurricane vet, go stock up in beer and liquor and the drug of choice since the stores and drug dealers might be close when the storm hits :) |
