Anyone own a liquor store?

I had some questions regarding storage of wine/liquor. I understand that beer will freeze in very cold temperatures. However, I've never seen liquor or even wine for that matter freeze. If I were to store large amounts of wine/liquor in a non-climate controlled area, what problems will I face. This will be in OKC, so high temperatures in the summer will surpass 100 degrees for at least a month, and low temperatures in the winter are usually in the 20s and can reach the teens as well. So, the building would definitely be below freezing quite a bit during the wintertime. What are the problems with storing wine/liquor in too cold or too hot of temperatures? How long can I keep wine/liquor in these extreme temperatures without harming the product? If anyone has any input, I would greatly appreciate it.

Mike ... liquor won&#x27;t freeze.... infact I always keep a bottle of kettle 1,and a bottle of aftershock on hand in the freezer.... wine on the other hand will freeze, and even if you were lucky enough that the bottle doesn&#x27;t bust, the wine after thawed would not tastes the same.

I do believe sunlight is a big problem for alcohol. I would be very reluctant storing any beverages in the kind of heat you guys get.

Thanks guys for the input.  Yeah I&#x27;ve experienced the same thing with liquor not freezing when stored in the freezer.  So, will liquor have issues staying in extreme heat for extended periods of time?&#xD;&#xA;GoldenGoose:  Can you elaborate more on what I should not do with wine?  I&#x27;m assuming you say not to store in extreme hot or cold environment?  If I had to temporarily, how long do you think I could keep it there without affecting the quality?  A month, a week, a day?&#xD;&#xA;Searchwarrant:  Looked for the Japanese forum, but not sure what you&#x27;re talking about.  Can&#x27;t find anything like that anywhere.

Distilled alcohol won&#x27;t freeze.  Beer and wine will go bad in 100 degree weather and will go bad if frozen.  I don&#x27;t know about Liquor in that heat, but I know liquor won&#x27;t freeze.

Freezing hard liquor is ok.Freezing wine is NOT OK.Wine and beer have active yeasts in them, so heat is NOT GOOD for them.  The hard liquors are basically all distilled.  The heat, (not sure about freezing) will affect their flavour, but they will not "go bad" for decades.Moral of the story;If these are good liquors, keep them in climate controlled environment.If they are crap that you are buying in bulk, it doesn&#x27;t matter because they taste like shit anyway.For wine, CLIMATE CONTROLLED.   Don&#x27;t even consider leaving them in those temp swings, unless once again, it is garbage to begin with.

Best to keep wine around 55 degrees. Temperature swings will age the wine too quickly. HUMIDITY is THE major problem with wine storage because it can dry the cork and wine itself and completely ruin the product. Cheap or expensive, regardless, you don't want the product destroyed.
